She's Leaving Home made me well up a bit once, for a reason I can't quite put my finger on. It's very sad, but once, it just did that to me. Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight never fails to give me chills, same with Paul's Waterfalls and John's Jealous Guy. There was a time very recently where some songs really started to make me well up, and I properly cried, but I can't remember what it was specifically.

I've also played a lot of Beatles songs when I've been sad. I just burst out once whilst playing The Fool On The Hill, alone.

In terms of solo songs, Beware of Darkness just wrecked me for weeks. When I heard Here Today live, I cried. And Bless You comes very close.

Can't think of a Ringo song, sorry. :-(

I'm also really jealous of a lot of you who have songs which can make you cry when they come on at the right time. Whilst you're all living movie-style lives with perfect soundtracks, all I bloody get is Honey Pie.

I remember back in the late 80s sitting in an armchair listening to Yer Blues and bawling my eyes out over a girl who had left me -- "I'm so lonely, I WANNA DIE, if I ain't dead already -- girl you know the reason why!".  I just smile in amusement at the memory now…blue-meanie

Golden Slumbers, The End, In My Life, A Day In The Life, I'll Follow The Sun: all of these have made me cry at least once. Free As A Bird, Real Love - I tear up every time I give them a listen. In fact, I avoid listening to those two because they get me very emotional for a day or two. As far as solo songs, I have yet to listen to Jealous Guy without shedding a tear after the first two lines. The same goes for Here Today. Then there are All Things Must Pass and Beware Of Darkness.

Happened to me with She's Leaving Home as well. I don't know why. I once cried during Golden Slumberd too, but now I can just listen to both songs.

I think Let it be is the only Beatles song that I couldn't listen for a long time because I started to cry everytime. As for solo Beatles songs, Imagine does it for me.

I get a bit misty-eyed when I hear:

a-hard-days-night-john-2'Out of the Blue' (I was born just to get to you) and 'God' (I don't believe in Beatles. _________________ I just believe in me… The dream is over)

a-hard-days-night-paul-10'Calico Skies' (It was written that I would love you from the moment I opened my eyes) and 'Here Today'

ahdn_george_05'All Things Must Pass' and the Concert for George version of 'For You Blue' when Paul and Ringo share a knowing glance on the line "Same old 12 bar blues".

a-hard-days-night-ringo-11'Never Without You' and 'Weight of the World'

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, Let it roll for all its worth.

I don't think I've ever cried at a song, and the only ones that come close are Calico Skies and Here Today.

I've only cried due to a song twice in my life, and neither of those occasions were Beatles songs.  It really had more to do with the situation than the music itself in both cases, I think.

I'm Necko.  I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.

I seem to have a lot of breakup stories ell-oh-ell.blue-meanie  I just remembered another song that made me cry in a circumstance similar to my previous mention above -- one of my own songs!  Coincidentally enough, it's my only song (out of about 100 I've written) that has a title the same as a Beatles song -- I Feel Fine -- however, I do add a parenthetical subtitle to mine:  "(Going Out of My Mind)".

I played and sang it for this girl as part of a three-song serenade (all three my own songs).  That one song was the only one she liked, and she was even moved to incipient tears (no major water works, but just some moisture), but funnily enough at the time I didn't really feel anything.  I was trying to woo her, but she essentially said No.  The whole point of that song is along the lines of "I love you and even if you don't want me, that's okay, I'll feel fine (going out of my mind)"…

Years later when I sat down to sing the song, at a certain point in the lyrics, I just broke down and cried and couldn't finish singing, although I kept trying.

There's certain parts of songs that just sound good. In a sad way, if you get what I mean.

In Hey Jude "and anytime you feel the pain, Hey Jude, refrain…"

In Rocky Raccoon, "only to find gideon's bible…"

 http://afloydianslip.tumblr.com/

"White Album - My joint-fave Beatles album along with Revolver. They show the two sides of Beatles. Revolver's very controlled - even though it's also very innovative. The White Album's playful and almost ramshackle. It's like a scrapbook kept by a genius. Fantastic stuff."

Say what you want about Yoko Ono, but it's true that John really did love her. I just welled up at Don't Let Me Down for multiple reasons, John's death being one.

Love Me Do makes me cry. That's how bad it is and how much I hate it.

I don't think its that bad but its appeal has waned for me, and PS I Love You is not as good as LMD.

Paul doing Here Today and Something in concert in Glasgow. The emotion in the place was incredible, especially with the pictures of John and George on the big screen for their respective tributes. Here Today in general makes me sad as it makes me think of John and puts a lump in my throat.heart

A non-Beatles number that gets me closest to crying is It's Over by Kendall Payne. The bareness of the arrangement and the haunting hurting vocal get me every time.
