OfflineSince I downloaded from YouTube 2-3 months ago, it's been Revolution [take 20]. I thought I'd gone beyond being able to be shocked or surprised by The Beatles with all I've heard over the years. This did it. Of the fabled recordings that are yet to see the light of day, ten minutes of "What the f*** is this?"
I keep on returning and am never disappointed. Just listened to it again. Devastating.
Past few days, mixed with that, Let It Be movie and Glynis' Get Back albums (much preferred to the Phil Spector or Paul McCartney Let It Be's) alongside various Christmas recordings to try & get in the mood.
Love the 1965 flexi, Chrimble Mudley was a great throwaway, Rolf and the boys doing Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport should've been on BBC.
Also loving Lennon's Howling at the Moon, and how he worked it into other demos of the time. Outside of The Beatles listening to lots of Ray Rich Band. Great blues, soul, rock'n'roll, jazz band, made up of top London players (their website says members of the band have played with Maggie Reilly, Candi Staton, Martha Reeves, The Stylistics, Howard Jones, Nick Heyward, Edwyn Collins, The Rockingbirds, The Lighthouse Family, Tasmin Archer, Lenny Henry, Rolf Harris, Level 42, Squeeze, Tangerine Dream, The International Blues Brothers Tribute Show, Cliff Richard and Belinda Carlisle, over the past couple of years). I got given an album called Souled on Rock'n'Roll a couple of months ago, which I think is on iTunes. Great album. I highly recommend.

OfflineI'm listening to Help! all the time. One of my favorite songs, right under You're Gonna Lose That Girl.

OfflineBallad of John and Yoko. Especially the second half after "Think". The pace seems like it doubles, the riffs change and Pauls harmonies work so well.

OfflineI started listening to "Wonderful". Not only does it make me think about my best friend, but the fact that I can sing along is a plus (I'm a baritone like Ringo).

"The End", "Lovely Rita", "Long, Long, Long", and "Octopus's Garden".
I'm on an "Octopus's Garden" kick right now too, I just love those harmonies!
Also "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" which kinda grew on me.

OfflineSomeone was nice enough to sift through Paul's entire solo catalog (or at least the pop/rock part of it) and make recommendations, so I made a YouTube playlist. Right now, Junk, That Would Be Something, Riding to Vanity Fair and House of Wax are in heavy rotation.

I've just realized that I've played Martha My Dear a lot more lately. Love it!
I´ve haven´t listened to that song for ages. I think because it´s so cold and it feels like a very summer song to me, I can imagine sitting on grass in the sun and listening to that.
I´ve been listening to 'You Really Got Me' a lot recently. I don´t think I´ll ever grow tired of the guitar on that song.
