“A four of fish and finger pies

Didn’t know what it meant at first, so I went to urbandictionary and found out. Not saying the definition, though! Too graphic!a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

The definition was quite funny. Oh and does anyone know what “four of fish” means?

Fourpenny for fish and chips.

And, yes, I know what the finger pies refer to.

Paul was a very very VERY dirty man in the late 60’s. Am I the only one who remembers the LSD incident?

Wow, you didn’t know? There’s an interview with Paul admitting he had done it, and the others were a little bitter about it because they had “discovered” the drug before him, namely John and George.

Here’s the interview:

Go Paulie! I love his honesty- made the interviewer look likequite the ignorant prick.

Hah, oh! I was wondering “how could a Beatles fan not know that?” That clears everything up, sorry about the assumption! a-hard-days-night-ringo-8

What does it mean? I'm too scared to look it up on my computer. A link would help.

“A four of fish” refers to fourpennyworth of fish and chips,
while “finger pie” is sexual slang of the time, apparently referring to
intimate fondlings between teenagers in the shelter, which was a
familiar meeting place. In this way, taken in combination, the lyrics
are a not-so-subtly raunchy reference to “third base[15]

Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!

*bump*

I read this the other day

Penny Lane ” wasn’t about a street at all. Paul admitted it was about a teacher he had a crush on way back when in third grade.

Is there any traction to the theory that the lyrics could be about a teacher instead of the street? Where on Earth did they get that idea? I’m not buying it, but I just wanted to see what you all make of it.

Is this the ‘source’ where it comes from?

If so its utter garbage. Its utter garbage anyway but nice to have a source.

I linked to the article where I saw the information (see the highlighted read this in my post). Anyhoo, here it is again

http://www.rantchic.com/2014/0…..y/#slide17

So you found another site saying this rubbish, mmm. Interesting how stuff like this gets spread on the world wide web. One person reads it then perpetuates the myth.

Actually, that is one of the reasons I posted the question here. If people ever Google the topic, I hope they land on this site and get the truth.

There was a discussion of the Myth Busters t.v. show on another thread recently. I consider the BB and it’s forum to be the Beatles Myth Busters site. Keep up the good work, Beatles Brains.

The following people thank Ahhh Girl for this post:

@Ahhhh Girl It just shows the laziness and stupidity of the writer at rantchic.com. I’d agree with mmm about the article he found being the source, and if the writer at rantchic.com doesn’t realise thespoof.com by its name is a satirical website…
