I think that itunes is the best place to buy music overall, unless you care about having the actual cd's then maybe your local best buy. Itunes is an awesome place because you can buy the widest variety of music, the only place that compares would be Amazon, but still you'd have to pay a shipping fee plus wait a few days. Itunes is mostly set at 9.99, with no shipping costs and you can download it instantly. I've found some strange music on itunes, hopefully Santa will get me a giftcard so I can find something else.

If you want to find them, use this website. It lists all Beatles songs alphabetically or by album with all the "anomalies" in that song. It has Anthology talking transcripts and more. It's really useful and I recommend you visit it when you get the Box Set.

Both of them have the UK versions of all the albums. The stereo is the better choice, though, because Abbey Road, Let it Be and Yellow Submarine were never released in mono, and therefore aren't in the mono box set.

The stereo set sounds better, too, in my opinion. The mono set is more for completionists.

I've just been listening to the sound bites comparing the Mono to the Stereo set. I grew up listening to the Mono records, and it's said you can hear all sorts of odd bits, like chairs squeaking, little personal things, on the Mono set, but the Stereo set remastered *sounds* pretty awesome. It doesn't have that foggy quality of the Mono set. Heck, o.k., I'm ready to take the plunge and rip cds (the sister said the boys would love "mix cds," ...

to the extent that sound quality matters, buying itunes makes no sense. The remasters get compressed down to be able to download and all the remastering quality goes out the window.

So if you really want to "hear" the music - then get the cds. Of course if you're going to listen through an ipod or mp3 type device they can't deliver the quality either.

the best way to hear the Beatles is on the remaster cds played on a cd player through great speakers or great headphones. jsut my 2 cents.

You could buy them an album each of the stereo remasters from just about anywhere, and their mom can rip the cds for them. Yellow Submarine or the Red and Blue albums would be good for this occasion.

I second that. When I was a child, I listened to the Red and Blue albums A LOT. When they feel like listening to more, depending of their preference (early or late Beatles) they can start getting the albums using this compilation as reference. Yellow Submarine is also a fantastic choice, many kids "meet" the
That's what we did. It makes more sense: If you don't like a large portion of the songs on an album, then if you buy the album on iTunes, you're wasting space.
