While I was playing Yesterday...and Today, I pointed out to my grandma that my theme song came on ("I'm Only Sleeping"). And after that, "Nowhere Man" came on. That was after my dad said something stupid to my grandma, and she got mad at him. SO, I told her that the song was about my dad. Then, I told her that "We Can Work It Out" was about them.

Okay, someone just threw a brick, or something at my house. I'll be back later, guys. Bye.

Just a single memory, and yet it means so much. When I had my law course, I was, shall we say, a tad nervous. And, the song I heard as my dad left at his stop to get off was Nowhere Man, and I was a nowhere man. I was going into a group of 20 kids, no one I knew, and yet, this helped. Hearing this, and then Real Love, it was, as they say, ...

The trick for Nowhere Man is that it makes you feel things based on your past. It doesn't convey emotion, it reflects the listeners emotions. It's not unemotional. And MMM, no Bridge Over Troubled Water? Surprised.

I agree with you about the devoid of emotion but as you say that's the point. I have to admit I think that sometimnes I'm totally bored with my life, and when that happens, you just can't feel anything. All you wanna do is sleep and do nothing, and the song reflects this beautifully.

Another song that talks about the same issue is U2's Numb. The Edge just sings the lyrics in a very monotonous, simple way, detached of all feeling. What makes both songs work is the music. (Sorry for comparing both songs)

Nowhere Man is great. Also, what is your 'sleep playlist?' It sounds interesting.

It's what I listen to when I'm in bed. (btw, "Flying" is a great song to listen to at night when you're going to sleep.)

I meant what songs are on the list.
