I know what you mean, but that doesn't make it any less modern/relevant.

Some more songs that would work: "I Want to Tell You" has lyrics that ring true for anyone tongue-tied and in love, I feel like it could easily fit in with 21st century tunes. "Girl" works too- the story in that song is something that people can relate too.

And, of course, "Sie Liebt Dich" works in any time, place, and situation.

If we are talking would rank with the great music of today (alternative/indie rock), I'd say I'm A Loser. Because, in the grand scene of things, I'm A Loser could sound like an Arcade Fire song.

I think the way to pose this question might be to ask - Which Beatles songs if issued today would be hits? As a single.

To me for sure Come Together would be a hit. Hey Jude - still timeless. Revolution as well. I leave up to others to chime in.

I don't know, I think Pepper seems pretty outdated. It's so weird because it revolutionized music in 1967, but now it just seems like a novelty or something like that. That's whats so cool about Pepper, it was never been done before and no one had ever heard anything really like it. The songs are so weird on that album, each one is so unique in it's own way. But I just don't think stuff sounds modern at all, its just too odd of an album.

I think Abbey Road is pretty modern, I mean the difference is how good it ...

I actually think that alot of he sgt. pepper LP sounds very modern. Also Revolver, The White Album and Abbey Road. I think the beatles revolutionized music being why there music sounds modern. And why so many people that didnt grow up in the 60s' love the beatles.
