How impossible! Some of the early stuff is my favorites, "A Hard Day's Night," "Can't Buy Me Love," "No Reply," "The Night Before," and – of course – John's throat tearing version of "Twist and Shout."
But if I had to vote for one, it would be "The Fool On The Hill." Paul said that this was written about the Mahareshi, but I think it was written about John. Paul was watching as John was losing control, becoming drug-addled and incapable of creating the music that Paul knew was in him. Listen to the lyrics again, think about the different places in life Paul and John were in when they recorded this in 1967 and I think you will see I am not crazy. As for the Alastair Taylor story about the vanishing man on the hill, well… I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.

This is an extremely hard question! Nonetheless, here is my current (and I stress current) top ten:
1) Eleanor Rigby
2) A Day In The Life
3) Two Of Us
4) For No One
5) Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)
6) Cry Baby Cry
7) Piggies
8) You've Got To Hide Your love Away
9) I've Got A Feeling
10) Dear Prudence
It's funny how both those top 10s have songs that wouldn't even be in my top 100. Not that there's a right or wrong to any of this – it's great that The Beatles appealed in so many different ways.
I'll have to think about my top 10 now. Very much off the top of my head, here's a list.
- A Day In The Life
- Strawberry Fields Forever
- Something
- I Am The Walrus
- If I Fell
- I Feel Fine
- Rain
- This Boy
- Happiness Is A Warm Gun
- Here, There And Everywhere
…which isn't to say I don't love Revolution or Sexy Sadie or I'm Only Sleeping or Tomorrow Never Knows or Come Together or Twist And Shout or And Your Bird Can Sing or I Should Have Known Better or dozens of others. I do – they've been with me for so long it's hard to choose between them.
For anyone who needs some inspiration, here's my list of songs they've commercially released (plus a few others).

OfflineMy recent top ten I think is just concerned with songs that have recently somehow had an epiphany with me- like I've realized something about it or how it's sung or a particularily excewllent drum fill… it all varies.
I don't think I'll ever have a solid favourite, I never grow tired of any songs (except perhaps From Me to You and Little Child, I find them both almost unbearable) But, saying that, I do happen to have at least ten songs that I've been listening to as of late, all Beatles songs are my favourites, they just have their days with me.
Helter Skelter (It's Paul's wailing, too much!)
Polythene Pam (I'm starting to pay more attention to John's hilarious and despised-by-Mimi scouse he sings with in this song)
Kansas City / Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey (The hey, hey, heys are too good! Perfect pitch, brimming with laughter!)
You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)
I've just recently downloaded this song, and it has to be one of my favourites of the Beatles collection. So clever, so funny, so adorable! I can just imagine their lighthearted happiness while recording it, if only there were a video of the recording!
Money (In my opinion one of John's sexiest vocals. Oh, the growling and shrieking. I'm just another vicim of theirs, aren't I?)
All I've Got to Do (Something about the melody of the chorus makes me love it, anyone else adore the phrasing?)
Well, tune in next week folks, as it's going to change next week, I assure you!

Hi, this is my first post. When I think of favorites, they're usually George songs, but they will change depending on the mood, but for now I'll go with "If I Needed Someone." I can see where the Byrds and Buffalo Springfield got their "signature sound," by copying the Beatles.
The Byrds? Yes. Buffalo Springfield? No way, bub. Springfield was a great (shortlived) band, famous for giving half of CSNY.
They didn't copy the Beatles, listen to Mr. Soul which sounds more like Satisfaction then If I Needed Someone.
