I have a very difficult time with favorites, for any topic; but especially this one! I really love 'In my life", "and your bird can sing", and "I'm only sleeping" though.

Because it is a real rock song and Ringo is a much better drummer than many people think, it has a great piano riff, Georges guitar solo really rocks and most of all the cooperation of John and Paul – and the improvisation at the end – show us that they are still having fun in the studio. I hate picking just one. But if forced, I have to say "Dear Prudence". It has the perfect blend of harmonies and instrumentation. Also, when John "brings it home" near the end…that is truly a magical moment in music history!

I think Strawberry Fields Forever is their best song, just because of all the emotion in the lyrics. I think the lyrics describe an egotistical man who gets away from everything by going to Strawberry Fields, but that's just my interpretation of it. The lyrics really hit close to home with me as I feel the same way John felt while writing the song.

Too hard a question for me. I definately prefer the second half of their career, but I'd still have to pretty much sit around choosing 1 or 2 songs off each album and setting up elimination brackets, so not something I can easily answer…

Like any other Beatles fan its hard to pick just one favorite song. So I guess by category it would have to be:
Love related : "Michelle" Or "Something"
Dance related : "Roll over Beethoven"
Sad related : "A day in the life"
Feel good/ Random: " I am the walrus"

Ugh, what a question. I think it's almost impossible for me to think of one song I like best- but there are some that I especially adore.
Sun King + Mean Mr. Mustard, Martha My Dear, She's Leaving Home, All Together Now, Baby You're a Rich Man, The Inner Light, No Reply, Within You and Without You, Yer Blues, Misery etc etc etc.
I could go on for hours, and I'd end up listing every song most likely. They're just too good.

I think it must be Strawberry Fields Forever for me. It has it all, it's perfection. The melody, the odd harmonies, the lyrics, Johns vocals and the cool production, everything just fits.

Hands down Strawberry Fields. I can listen to that song over and over and over.
A close second to Thing We Said Today. The chord progression, the driving beat, the melody and harmonies there are tought to beat.
Wait, does side 2 of Abbey Road count as one song?

An impossible question, of course -- like many here, I could pick a different song every day for a month and not repeat myself. But if there were one that never fails to get me going, it's A Day in the Life. Kinda has everything, doesn't it?

Why everyone dislikes the first half of their career?
My favourite Beatles' song is I Saw Her Standing There. The first song of the first album. Very nice song.
Other good songs are For No One and The Fool on the Hill and, of course, the great Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Hi all, I love some of the songs listed, its so hard to list favorites but i have to say that the remastered versions have really brought some songs alive.
I cant believe how good "I'll follow the sun" is now. The harmonies are fantastic. It was always a great song and one of my favs.

Hi, this is my first post. When I think of favorites, they're usually George songs, but they will change depending on the mood, but for now I'll go with "If I Needed Someone." I can see where the Byrds and Buffalo Springfield got their "signature sound," by copying the Beatles.

to me it really depends a lot on my mood and it changes from time to time. strawberry fields, she said she said, ticket to ride are surely always top of the list. but then i often really like those little mccartney songs like her majesty or some of abbey road's side 2 like polythene pam, mean mr. mustard etc.
