I'm ridiculous and so is that song, yet it's my favorite.

5867 times?

5867 * 2.50 = 14667.5 minutes. That's like listening to it 244.458 hrs or 10.18 days or 1.4 weeks non-stop.

Wow, OK, this is old.

And sorry to be ignorant, but is there a way to actually see these in iTunes? I can’t seem to be able to find it

  1. Select the songs display in the main tab display options in Music (Songs, Albums, Artists, Genres, Match).
  2. Right-click the main headings bar of the display (Time, Track No., Name, comments (or however you have it displayed)).
  3. Scroll down the pop-up menu, find “plays” and if it’s not ticked then click on it.
  4. If you can’t see it immediately then just scroll along the menu bar at the bottom and you should see it.

I used to have 300+ plays on many songs on my old computer. But that computer broke, so the plays got reset. Since I got a new computer, the number of plays for songs is extremely low. Here’s my list for Beatles songs:

Wild Honey Pie [9 plays]

The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill [6 plays]

Back In The USSR [5 plays]

Happiness Is A Warm Gun [2 plays]

Only A Northern Song [1 play]

List for all songs:

(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone- The Monkees [30 plays]

Your Auntie Grizelda- The Monkees [11 plays]

Don’t Eat The Yellow Snow- Frank Zappa [9 plays]/Wild Honey Pie – The Beatles [Also 9 plays]

The Jean Genie- David Bowie [8 plays]

Making Time- The Creation [7 plays]

I honestly think the plays thing is unfair. I like many 20+ minutes long psychedelic songs, but they only have 1 or 2 plays due to their length. While a short song like Wild Honey Pie can get many more plays faster, due to it being short.

I have two:It’s Get Back on my old one, and Ten Years Gone by Led on my new one. Then the next three songs (on both iPods) are occupied by Floyd tracks, then it’s back to the Beatles.

This doesn’t surprise me in the slightest :)

Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

I’ve got several thousand songs on my various devices, and often employ them in shuffle mode (and more often simply play stuff on actual non-computing music-playing devices) so very few songs get a lot of play counts (if even counted at all.) But I know I’ve played Miles Davis’ “Two-Faced” more than any other single track on my portable mp3 player in recent months.

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

First, on topic, it’s Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. The highest Beatles song is the LOVE version of Because .

Now, there’s no way this is accurate. I’ve played Beatles way more than anything else (although my recently discovered Nirvana is getting a lot playtime recently).

Kind of on topic, figured this was a good place to post this.

Any song on my iPod from Abbey Road  has it’s album art displayed as Venus And Mars . Likewise with Good Evening New York City  being replaced by American Authors. Now, I guess this isn’t a huge deal, but I’m really weird about album art being right. And iTunes has been totally stupid recently when syncing with my iPod (for some reason it’s counted Something In The Way as being on a totally different version of Nevermind so most of the album is on one version, and it’s on it’s own album also called Nevermind with the same album art, but listed as being by Various Artists), so I’m more disposed to be mad about little things.

Thanks for anyone that can help.

Top 5 most played according to my iPod (when I first responded on the last page almost 4 years ago, I had no iPod).

  1. Think For Yourself
  2. Tomorrow Never Knows
  3. The Word
  4. Taxman
  5. Norwegian Wood

Can you tell that Rubber Soul and Revolver are my favorite albums?

Numbers 1. and 3. make perfect sense because I love how those two contrast between the fuzzy sounding end of ‘TFY’ and the clean piano sound beginning of ‘TW’. I’ve posted that many times – when you play the album, eliminate the silence between the 2 songs by hitting NEXT on your device. It is awesome, IMHO.

According to my top 25 most played list, all but one is a Beatles song. Number 24. is ‘If Not For You ‘ by George Harrison .ahdn_george_08

I’m not exactly stunned that this is so, but I have at least 100 other artists in my iPod and none of them made the list of top 25 played songs.

Looks like I need to dust off my other music. george-martin

My phone doesn’t hold count of how many times I’ve played songs but it is a bit unfair in that I did delete the downloaded copies of Beatles that I had put it on to my phone in the summer of 2013 because I bought all of the remasters so all of the listening count of the downloaded songs are lost (if that makes sense). Revolver shows up because I put that onto my phone in November 2012 so it has all of it’s original hearings and all that blah blah

So the most listened to songs on my phone are:

1. When We Was Fab- George Harrison (this was a boo-boo made by myself as I left it playing on repeat when I went to school so by the time I came home for lunch it had notched up an extra 70 listening’s)

2. One Way Out-thenewno2

3. Handle With Care- Traveling Wilburys

4. Dance Tonight- Paul McCartney

5. Wake Up My Love-GH

6. Cloud 9- GH

7. Dream Away- GH

8. Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)-GH

9. Ever Present Past- Paul McCartney

10. Don’t Let Me Wait Too Long-GH

 And on it goes, until

18. Tomorrow Never Knows (see a Revolver song is my most listened to Beatles track)

Then ‘Love You To ‘ at #21

My most listened to Beatles songs are bias towards Revolver (and the Anthology’s) as well

1. Tomorrow Never Knows

2. Love You To

3. Eleanor Rigby

4. Let It Be

5. Norwegian Wood

6. Real Love

7. Taxman

8. Free As A Bird

9. While My Guitar Gently Weeps

10. For No One

You can change either the info of whole albums, single tracks or a number of tracks at a time in iTunes.

Select what you want to edit

  1. for whole albums
    1. right click on the album picture in album view and then select get info from the drop down menu that appears
    2. change what you want by clicking in the subject field and type away
  2. for a selection of album tracks
    1. hold down ‘ctrl’ and then select the ones you want altered
    2. when you have them all selected right click and then select get info from the drop down menu that appears
    3. change what you want by clicking in the relevant subject field and type away
  3. for one track
    1. select the track you want to edit, right click and then select get info from the drop down menu that appears
    2. change what you want by clicking in the relevant subject field and type away

You can then alter whatever details you want for these tracks,

for artwork

  1. double click the empty square box and it will bring up your computer directory (the album cover needs to be saved onto your computer first),
  2. locate and open the file folder the artwork is in
  3. double click on the picture

One thing that might be screwing up how your device sync’s tracks is if some have been added to iTunes as compilations (iTunes occassionally does this itself). To undo this

  1. select the offending tracks (its easier to do it as whole albums to save any annoyances)
  2. select the ‘options’ from the menu bar that appears
  3. next to ‘Part of a compilation’ you’ll see either a yes or a no. Set it to ‘no’, even if it already is on ‘no’ (if a few of the album tracks are part of a compilation then it will be set as ‘no’ automatically)

At times i have to have a fight with iTunes as it decides that some albums tracks are part of a different album with the exact same details. I’ve found the best thing to do is title each of the albums different names (i go for something incredibly stupid – and make sure whatever you call it isn’t already in tunes) and then select both/all and title them the original name of the album again. For some reason this works.

Basically the iTunes library can be a right pain in the arse and for someone like me who likes everything correct and in the right place it can get very stressful at times.

If any/none of this makes no sense let me know.

Do you have a separate ipod for Beatles music? That would be dedicated fan behaviour.a-hard-days-night-ringo-15a-hard-days-night-john-5a-hard-days-night-paul-5ahdn_george_01
