Well, they'd taken other drugs before they wrote the song, and yeah they could've also meant high on love or alcohol.

Nevertheless, the Bob Dylan story has been pretty well-established.

I just played Beatles Rock Band and at the end you don't have to say that stuff but in the lyrics on the bottom it says what I thought it said. But you can never know who is right in this twisted world.
