OfflineDuring day seven of the Get Back/Let It Be sessions (10 January), the day that George walked out, they recorded Maxwell's Silver Hammer with John putting on an exagerrated German accent. Is it available anywhere? I guess probably not but the thought of hearing John singing it with a funny accent makes me crack up. Anybody know?

OfflineIf its on anything it would be Purple Chicks a/b road which put out every existing known minute of of the Get Back sessions. I'll dig out the Sulpy Get Back book and get the performance details.
(Edit update)
According to Doug Sulpys Complete Get Back Sessions book it would be either 10.65, 10.67 or 10.68 (those are the DDSI numbers that are used on the A/B Road bootleg to help catalogue the Get Back sessions (10.65 meaning the 65th musical performance on the 10th day)). As to how to get the a/b road i have no idea where online its safe to download, if you find somewhere can you let me know as ive been looking for the twichenham sessions for ages.

OfflineThank you for the info. One thing though, they recorded it on the seventh day not the tenth, I take it that by 10th day you mean the 10th day of the Get Back sessions.
Here´s an apple for you –
Enjoy!

OfflineThat video is so funny. Paul isn't the best german-speaker on earth, although his pronounciation is pretty good, for example he speaks the r or the ch as german-speakers do when they speak german (and some also when they speak english (luckily not me))

When does that go French? I'm pretty good at identifying French, and I ncaqn't make out a word of that being French.
No idea but every book and comment ive read about it says its German with French tinges. I dont speak either but it sounds wonderful whatever language it is.

OfflineWell, Paul is trying to sing German and French. He knows some German words, so he builds up some sentences which of course make very little sense (he just captures very well how non-Germans hear Germans speak). Then he sings something that's obviously supposed to sound French, but he doesn't really know a word.

OfflineI have that recording of Lennon singing Maxwell SH with (perhaps) a germanic accent.
If you can get your hands on the complete Get Back sessions, it's session 12-20.
It's 13 minutes long, starting with Maxwell SH.
The Beatles then digress into a whole bunch of oldies hamming it up from beginning to end; quite fun.
MANY segments of those Get Back sessions are hilarious, which belies the theory that this was all doom and gloom, the end of the Beatles, etc…
I'd be happy to upload some if anyone can tell me how to upload a music file (some like this one are on the long side).

OfflineITSWD – either upload it to YouTube, or host it to some MP3 sharing site (none come to mind, but they're easily searchable).

OfflineI have some questions about the studio version:
I read many times (also on beatlesbible) that george martin played organ. I don't hear an organ when is it audible in the final mix? Which guitar part is played by paul and which part is played by george? And finally why doesn't john play on this song although he participated on the session?
