I think up until very recently I would have said Yesterday. I'm only just realising how great a song I've Just Seen A Face is.

I think I've Just Seen a Face appeals more to those like me who prefer the Beatley sound. Yesterday appeals to a wider audience.

You can compare it to two vocalists; Pat Benatar and Josh Grobin. Both have beautifully trained voices and I enjoy them both. Benatar decided to use hers for Rock & Roll and appealed to that audience. Grobin decided to sing more of a classic style and thus enjoys more international success. That might help explain the popularity of Yesterday, but I'll take IJSaF any day.

Ok I'm going to say my opinion of why Yesterday is more popular than I've just seen a face.

The lyrics. Just check Yesterday lyrics. They're just brilliant. Like a poem. A very sad tragic poem yeah but it's still awesome. And they work very well with the music. I'm not saying that I've just seen a face lyrics are dumb… but they aren't as brilliant as Yesterday. You don't need too many words to get the sadness of the singer. I mean just check this line "Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play, now I need a place ...
