Thanks for the post gotagoodreason. I Will Always Be In Love With You has been written both ways and ive never known which is correct so thanks for the clear-up. Also thanks for the link which says the original recording artist as Morton Downey so i presume "Jack Pleis or a band called The Ravens" (taken from another site) covered Morton and the beatles covered Jack (if both sites give correct information). Sadly there is no recording of either on youtube.

There's a wealth of interesting material on 'The Beatles Rarity' site that I have yet to go through, but I hadn't heard this particular number. I think the YouTube recording that meanmistermustard provides is of slightly better sound quality, though.

This is a quite well-known "rarity" as it's featured in the 1st Anthology episode (not available on the Anthology CDs though). We can hear the song while a vintage reel is playing on the screen (turned to B&W for good measure). The track cleverly cuts just as we see the tape flipping off, which I think makes that moment one of the most moving of the series.

It's really called 'I Will Always Be In Love With You', that's why you may have not found much about it yet !

Anyway this is interesting.

That is absolutely wonderful, first time I ever heard it! I probably wouldn't have noticed the lack of a drummer if you hadn't mentioned it. Their rhythm is perfect throughout, and George's playing is incredible, some of the best I've ever heard from him! It's like he wants to put every lick he's ever learned into this one song.

As for vocals, John and Paul are obviously switching off lines - some are unmistakably John, but the majority are by Paul, although there are a couple in the lower register that I couldn't distinguish between either of them.

I didn't know there ...

One of the highlights of the 1960 Silver Beatles home demo's does anyone know anything about this song. Have found a few details on various sites (a cover of a Jack Pleis or a band called The Ravens) but little else. I'd really like to hear the original but cant find anything. There is a doo-wop song from '57 on youtube with the same name but its not the same as the beatles cover.

Not for any specific reason i just love the '60 Silver Beatles recording, Johns vocal and how the guitars dont make you realise there are no drums (the rhythms in the guitars ...
