Far From It. I only don't hate 2 seconds of it. You need to convince me about the other 2:51

OfflineHey. I got you to admit the song has good in it. There are few songs with absolutely no good in them. (Except maybe "Wild Honey Pie.")
mr. Sun king coming together said And yes, YouTube comments are stupid. But hilariously so.

OfflineFirst of all, I LOVE both "Mr. Moonlight" and "I Saw Her Standing There", specially the last one. Generally, I don't care about lyrics, anyway, but its words are already fine. The important thing here is that anytime I heard this happy, powerful song, I want to stand up and dance, dance and dance! (I'm not lying).
So, had anyone heard the original version of "Twist and Shouts"? I think it's awful.

The original was ruined by Phil Spector.
Are you surprised by that fact? It's Spector after all
He had more hits than misses, but yeah, I wasn't surprised that the producer who ruined it was Paul McCartney's mate.

Good One. How many hits did he have? I can't think of any.

OfflineMr. Sun King, you will always be in the minority regrding "I Saw Her standing There"! Deal with it.
You can't copyright a bass line, Paul recognized a good one in "I'm Talking About You" and used it. Deal with it.
The song Berry sued Wilson for was "Surfin USA" ( he recognzied the melody of "Sweet Little 16")

OfflineAs regards the actual thread topic, both originals AND covers were hit-or-miss for the 1963 albums. But even on the first two, covers-wise, they showed greatj imagination in choosing covers, going for a mix of non-obvious hits and obscure near-hits.

And I Don't Care. The song is unworthy of the Lennon-McCartney credit it has. I'd Rather have nothing at all
Actually, since it was on Please Please Me, it had a McCartney/Lennon credit instead. Your move.

1. I realize I will always be in the minority based on my opinion of I Saw Her Standing There, and that's fine by me. If You like the song, Great.
2. Plagiarism should still be pursued, because if the song had that much of a resemblance that the Bassline worked twice, It must have been similar in more than just the Bassline
3. Thanks for Clarifacation on the Berry-Wilson lawsuit
4. Calm DOWN!!!! It's just 1 Song!! Stop telling me to deal with it.
And Paulrus, Does Lennon-McCartney or McCartney-Lennon really matter?

Well, The Long and Winding Road reached number one, as did My Sweet Lord. Most users on here preferred Let It Be to Let It Be Naked in a thread, so we can add the songs from there. Spector mixed Lennon's first three albums, and he worked with the Ramones. He had 25 top 40 hits between 1960 and 1965 ffs.

No, it doesn't matter. I'm only joking
For the bassline to work, it doesn't really have to be too similar. They have to have the same chord progression, but the chord progression used into those two songs is very common.
A quote from Many Years From Now: I played exactly the same notes as he did and it fitted our number perfectly. Even now, when I tell people about it, I find few of them believe me. Therefore I maintain that a bass riff doesn't have to be original.
I wouldn't care if it was a variation, but he took the whole thing and it doesn't seem right to me, regardless of technical copyright shit.
I know the bassline is stolen, that's not what I'm saying. I meant that in response to "because if the song had that much of a resemblance that the Bassline worked twice, It must have been similar in more than just the Bassline". The bassline is stolen, you're right, but I still think it's an awesome song regardless

And Even if He didn't steal the Bassline, I wouldn't like the song. It just doesn't work for me.
