Here's a question for you:
if you could choose 1 song from each album to create a compilation CD of their best, most innovative,or  personal favourite works, what songs would you put on it?

I think for me it'd be most of my favourite songs, or I suppose the ones I think deserve to be heard by everyone.
But man, it's tough to choose, beware before you begin!

* Only one song from each album, remember!
** I think I'd allow 2 from the White Album though, since it is a double LP

Please Please Me

Money (That's What I Want)

And I Love Her

No Reply

You've Got to Hide Your Love Away

Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)
(This song cannot be ignored in my eyes- it's an absolute haunting, beautifully written, sarcastic, genius piece. Enough praise, eh?)

Tomorrow Never Knows / She Said She Said
(I couldn't decide!)

A Day In The Life / She's Leaving Home
(Couldn't decide again, A Day In The Life is a masterpiece, and I just love She's Leaving Home.)

The Fool On The Hill

Happiness Is A Warm Gun & Mother Nature's Son

All Together Now

Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End medley

Across The Universe

-Phew- That was difffffffficult. Give it a try? I went in order of album release.

Tongue, lose thy light. Moon, take thy flight… see ya, George!

Hm, a challenging one. I appreciate some songs for their importance and innovation, but such songs are not always my favorites on a given album.

I also included one song from each of the Past Masters albums. Just because nobody said I couldn't.Wink

I Saw Her Standing There

I Want To Hold Your Hand

All My Loving

You Can't Do That

Every Little Thing

I've Just Seen a Face

We Can Work It Out

Girl

Eleanor Rigby

A Day In The Life

Strawberry Fields Forever

Hey Bulldog

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Blackbird

Let It Be

Come Together

Thats really a hard thing to do.

Please Please Me

All My Loving

Cant Buy Me Love

Rock 'n' Roll Music

You've Got To Hide Your Love Away

Norwegian Wood

Eleanor Rigby

A Day In The Life

Strawberry Fields Forever

Back In The U.S.S.R.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

All You Need Is Love

Here Comes The Sun

Let It Be

That was incredible tough. I had to leave away so many classics YellCryEmbarassedSurprisedSmile

And in some cases I decided against my favourite songs, just because I thought, the people should hear the all-time classics. I would have loved to chose Baby's in Black and You Cant Do That.

Anyway: We miss the great Singles!

I'll go in whatever order since I feel like taking a mind dump.

Do You Want To Know A Secret

Roll Over Beethoven

Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby

I'm Happy Just To Dance With You

I Need You

If I Needed Someone

Love You To

Within You Without You

Blue Jay Way

While My Guitar Gently Weeps/Something To Hide except for me and my monkey

For You Blue

Only A Northern Song

Something

Just realized that every song on there is by the late great George Harrison (Despite what people think, I think Something To Hide was written by Lennon and Harrison)

"The best band? The Beatles. The most overrated band? The Beatles."

Well, Wikipedia (Ya, I know) stats that it is a Lennon composition (credited to Lennon/McCartney). Doesn't really seems like a Harrison tune, it simply doesn't.

When I Twish And Shout, it makes the Girl say "What Goes On?", and than I say, "I do this Here, There and Everywhere", and than she finishes by saying "Honey Don't".

Mhh and why not having a Lennon, McCartney and Harrison compilation? I did that once, they were 4 CDs, The fourth was with all Ringo songs.

I'm not sure about an all-Ringo cd, that means you would probably have to put If You've Got Trouble on there. There should be a frowning George Martin face.george-martin
