OfflineI was just listening to While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and I always forget about the piano in the intro, I think it's such a great way to start a song.
Others I'd add to the list are:
The spanish guitar before The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill
The piano in You Never Give Me Your Money
And of course the "one two three fawr!" of I Saw Her Standing There
I've obviously forgotten some great ones, can anybody else think of any?

OfflineHarmonica on Love Me Do and I Should Have Known Better, Nowhere Man's accapella opening, many more. I actually prefer the opening to the solo WMGGW on Anthology 3.

Not just an intro to a song, but to Revolver: Taxman's own "one, two, three, four, one, two bung berng bada boo".
That's a good one, and I love how accurate the "bung berng bada boo" is.

As a whole song, I definitely prefer the Anthology version, but I just love that piano.
Just to add another, the piano opening of Sexy Sadie. I'm on a White Album kick right now.

OfflineOMG, this is an almost impossible task.
It should be WAY easier to name Beatles songs withOUT a great intro.
Just a few just popping up:
Sgt. Peppers/Sgt. Peppers Reprise
Strawberry Fields
Honey pie
Drive my car (wth is Ringo doing there on the drums?!)
Money
Michelle
Here comes the sun
Come together
Helter Skelter
Revolution (hard version)
Across the universe
For you blue
Day tripper
and the list goes on and on…

OfflineI think Walrus absolutely nailed it with Taxman, that's my favorite.
Others:
Love You To always makes me feel like I'm taking a great inhale of breath.
Rain, chicgka, chicgka chicgka
In My Life, I just can't help but smile.
Norwegian Wood, John's intro is nasty and does not get enough credit.

OfflineNorwegian Wood, John's intro is nasty and does not get enough credit.
Good suggestions. As I said, they hardly ever had a song without a great intro.
Sorry to nitpick, but when John starts his nasty singing on Norwegian wood, the intro is OVER, that's already the song.
But that gives me the chance to add "Dear Prudence" as an absolute essential song on the best intro list.

OfflineFirst thing that came to mind was "I've Just Seen a Face"… I'd love to figure that out someday.
Polythene Dan votes for "Rain."
And who can forget "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da?" It always makes me jump when I'm listening to shuffle, and the last song was, say, "Hey Jude," and there was a nice long fadeout, and then…

Revolution (hard version)
1. Agreed.
2. I also like the "take two" intro of "Revolution 1." But then again, I like "Revolution 1" better.

OfflineThe Love version of Get Back is probably the greatest possible introduction in any genre of music (no hyperbole).
- The final chord of "A Day In The Life", backwards.
- The opening chord of "A Hard Day's Night"
- Ringo's drum solo from "The End" (with added screaming girls)
- The regular "Get Back" introduction.

I've definitely overlooked this everytime, incredible.
And nobody's actually mentioned that AHDN chord itself yet…

What a coincidence – I was listening to Anthology yesterday while watching a baseball game. When the game ended, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da was about to start. I saved it for this morning's commute because I thought I'd need a mental jump start to my work day. That opening really energizes me – especially the Anthology version in which Paul shouts out his "Take 1" announcement.

Oops. Sorry.
paulsbass is right – it really is hard to think of a Beatles song without a great opening. I'll stick with the opening of Rain as my favorite.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, Let it roll for all its worth.
