OfflineI never turn up music I like. It's not because I'm an old fogey -- even in my early 20s, I never blasted music. It always made me feel slightly uncomfortable and on edge. I had a friend in college, when I stayed overnight occasionally at his place, I'd wake up all groggy and stumble into the kitchen for a cup of coffee and he'd suddenly crank up Talking Heads or some outrageous grunge by Neil Young at top volume. Even at age 22, the only thing I wanted to hear in the morning was some light woodwind concerto by Brahms or something.
And it's not just a morning thing. No time of day can I enjoy loud music. It gives me a vaguely unpleasant vibe. Always has.

OfflineI don't like really loud music and, therefore, don't often go to parties where there's going to be very loud (bad) music but I can't listen to some songs by The Beatles or practically any Led Zep song without turning it up. It's just not the same for me.
Another one I've thought of, 'Dr. Robert'. Oh, and 'Rain'. That ending just has to be listened to loud and clearly.

OfflineI always have to turn up Julia because half of the time I can't really hear it. Sarcasm alert. I know what you meant.
I have to turn up Hey Bulldog, Revolution, Lady Madonna and for some weird reason You Know My Name (Look up the Number)
The Incedibly True Story THat Never Ends. By Sam.
Best Friend: WHat are you listening to
Me: The Beatles
Best Friend: Go Figure

OfflineAny song with an evident beat tempts me to turn it up.. For example, I'm currently listening to Good Morning Good Morning, and if I were driving I'd have the strong desire to turn it up. I always turn up Taxman as well. I guess something about Paul's solos are causing that..
also, in response to turning up Julia; I always have to turn up Long, Long Long.

OfflineI know 'LLL' is hard to hear properly, and therefore you might want to turn it up, but I never do. There's just something about sitting there when the sun's going down, with candles on and listening to George's soft voice (this is something I do a lot).
'Ooh! My Soul' came on the radio the other day, and I just had to turn that one up!

I've found that a lot of George's songs are good to meditate to, if you're interested (except the ending, maybe).
