Wow, that's a lot of work you've done! They really depended on them more & more over time, eh?

I just want to play. I’d like to think I could work opposite Sinatra, B.B. King, the Beatles, or a polka band... - Jazz musician Rahsaan Roland Kirk, 1967

I wonder if you could further subdivide between songs where the piano/keyboard is a main sound ("Not A Second Time," "Lady Madonna," "Martha …") vs just there to add substance – a little mayonnaise for the sandwich.

[not that you haven't done enough already!]

It would be possible but I think in many cases some people would say it's a main part adn some would say it's not. For example the piano plays something like a riff in One After 909; is this a main part or not? In some cases it's quite obvious that it's a main part (the examples you named, let it be, A Day In The Life, get back) and in some cases it's quite obvious it isn't (She Came In Through The Bathroom Window (if there is one; I read it, but I'm not sure whether the sound, about which i think that it's a piano, is really a piano, Across The Universe) but in many cases it's unfortunately not
