Sorry if these were already said, but In Living In The Material World by George Harrison it's got their names in it!

Met them all here in the material world

John and Paul here in the material world

and though we started out quite poor

we got Ritchie on a tour

and i'm pretty sure that Ritchie means Ritchie, like Ringo, only it's a double meaning too, I think!

The Seeker by The Who also mentions The Beatles

As does We Didn't Start The Fire by Billy Joel, becuase it's says Beatlemania and then so

Admittedly, I don't listen to this song often. So imagine my surprise when I hear, while listening to Ringo's Devil Woman, the line "Sexy Sadie, you look like the devil to me". I often skip the song, but I was too lazy to change it this time. And as for the song, I have a new found appreciation of the song. Now, this may have already been mentioned (possibly by myself), but you also have John's vitriolic attack of Paul, How Do You Sleep, featuring the famous line about Yesterday. And, I've mentioned it before, but London Calling, the Clash song, has the famous (or infamous) line, "Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust".

I tried to think of something powerful and moving… and failed.  "You were given a choice between war and dishonor - you chose dishonor, and you shall have war" - Winston Churchill

I can think of 2 that name a beatle; Life Is Real (Song For Lennon) by Queen written in tribute to John after his murder; Crazy In Love by Beyonce, Jay-Z raps "a star like Ringo".

Going off topic but a a couple of vids that are obviously inspired by the beatles are Hey Ya by Outkast that used the first Sullivan show as its inspiration and Sing by Travis that paid homage to Help!

And then theres anything Oasis ever did - well not the decent lyrics part but pretty much everything else.

"Well, probably we'll sell less records, less people'll go to see the film, we'll write less songs, and we'll all die of failure" (John Lennon 8/64)

May have been mentioned, but "All the Young Dudes" by Mott the Hoople mentions them: "And my brother's back at home, with his Beatles and his Stones"

And since meanmistermustard brought up music videos, "Californication" by the Red Hot Chile Peppers has a Beatle-esque band wearing Buddy Holly Glasses.

The Manic Street Preacher's Motown Junk- "I laughed when Lennon got shot, 21 years of living and nothing means anything to me".

I take the line "I don't want much, it will be deafening when I do" in the Kaiser Chiefs' Little Shocks to be a reference to I Want You (She's So Heavy).

There's the obvious "I read the news today, oh boy" in David Bowie's Young Americans, and Queen's All God's People has a fantastic moment where Mercury sings "then I, then I, then I, then I went into a dreeeaaaam", which I can't help feeling is a reference to A Day In The Life (certainly sounds like one). That line always gives me goosebumps.

And, of course, Oasis.

And I neeeeeeeeed her all the time

Definitely had to just play All The Young Dudes thanks to Cranberry Sauce, what a song!
Yeah Oasis have a million. "So I'll start a revolution from my bed" in Don't Look Back In Anger is one that springs to mind.
Tim Minchin's comedy song Rock n Roll Nerd says "He's more into Beatles than the Stones."
Dans Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip have a song called Thou Shalt Always Kill, the lyrics of which are essentially a list of new commandments. One is "Thou shalt not put recording artists on ridiculous pedestals no matter how great they are or were. The Beatles were just a band…"
I can't think of any more than haven't already been mentioned.
"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."

I love Tim Minchin!
There's also the line "I've even tried to sing Ob-la-di Ob-la-da in the exact voice of Ringo" in Lullaby

Oh yeah, of course! He's great, he was at Reading as well but the tent was too packed for me to see him. a-hard-days-night-paul-1

There's a line in The Who's "The Seeker" that goes:

I asked Bobby Dylan
I asked The Beatles
I asked Timothy Leary
But he couldn't help me either

Seems to be a reference to pop and drug culture in the 60's.

You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

Dan Fogelberg did a cover of the 1962 song by the Cascades "Rhythm of the Rain" and at the very end he sings a lyric from "Rain"

"when the rain comes, they run and hide their heads, they might as well be dead, when the rain comes"

On the video below start at 3:43 this is a point where you can hear the end of the jazzy version of the song so you can get a flavor of how well he blends the "Rain" lyric into the ending. His voice even changes to the psychedelic sounding John Lennon version.

On albums and interviews he cited the Beatles as one of his sources of inspiration.

Kasabian's La Fee Verte: Lyrics including "I see Lucy in the sky, telling me I'm high" and "Nothing is real" as well as the song just being a massive plagiarism of The Beatles musically. Basically, don't listen to it. Or any song off of their new album, for that matter.

I did think that when I heard it, possibly a Dylan quote in there too?

Edit: The line is "how does it feel to live a life where nothing is real?", and there's also a line about "sound and vision", which seems to be a Bowie reference.

I quite liked the song, thought the album was decent but not as good as the band hyped it to be (they were calling it their Revolver).

From Elton John's "All The Girls Love Alice".

But what do you expect from a chick who's just sixteen
And hey, hey, hey, you know what I mean

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, Let it roll for all its worth.

A huge portion of (What's the Story) Morning Glory? by Oasis is Beatles infused, especially in the title track. If you listen very closely, behind the water sounds and helicopter blades whirring, you'll hear a tape loop of the backup guitar effects from "Yer Blues." I didn't believe my ears, at first, but it's totally there. Also, one of the lines of the chorus is: "Another sunny afternoon, Walkin' to the sound of my favorite tune, Tomorrow never knows what it doesn't know too soon." Happy listening! apple01

See a lot of Oasis mentions… Liam's new band Beady Eye has a tune as well

Beatles And Stones lyrics

Well it beats me mama, I just want to rock and roll
Well it beats me mama, I just want to rock and roll
I?m gonna stand the test of time
Like Beatles and Stones

Well it freaks them mama
I?m not doin? what I?m told
Well it freaks them mama
You know I can?t be bought and sold
I?m gonna stand the test of time
Like Beatles and Stones

I?m on my way home, just get back to what?s mine
And when I get home, well I?ll be alright

Well it beats me mama, I just want to rock and roll
I?m gonna stand the test of time
Like Beatles and Stones

I?m on my way home, just get back to what?s mine
And when I get home, well I?ll be alright

What?s that you say?
Get out the Way!
