Desmond stays at home and does her pretty face

The gender reversal in the last verse was one of the first cool things I noticed about the Beatles.  I was…under 10 anyway.

That’s two of them. (Yes! Somerset is a bit of a cheat but it’s still there)

I will update the body parts list soon.

But, the discussion in the “most dated Beatles song” has me wondering about Beatles transportation:

Yellow lorry, slow nowhere to go
Yellow submarine
You can Drive My Car
Trolly to the jeweler’s store
Newspaper taxis appear on the shore
Imagine yourself in a boat on a river

What others are there?

I’ve been debating that question myself. We’ll keep it for reference.

Oh please believe me, I’d hate to miss the train
Picture yourself on a train in a station
If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street
You were in a car crash
Sail the ship, chop the tree
Well you can syndicate any boat you row
Will the wind that blew her boat across the sea…

I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe.  This has been true for 2016 & 2017 Sig-Badge.png but I may have to get more specific in the future.

Please let me know if it’s improper to have two or more threads at once in this topic.  Here is one (xposted to the “White Album as a John solo album” topic).

So should it be who wrote the song or who sings the song?

Personal choice I would say but generally (and Goodnight is an exception) he who wrote it normally took lead vocal.

I don’t know if anyone wants to do the research, but maybe we could all chime in on other exceptions that we happen to think of.  This probably is a better place than the “White…John solo album”.

One After 909 is one, John wrote it but Paul sings the solo verses (I’m pretty sure anyway, my internal Beatles song trivia storage is a bit corrupted).

John and Paul sing lead on the verses of ‘One After 909 ‘, John takes lead on most of the middle eight/bridge (is that the right term?) with Paul providing harmony.

I think Paul wrote most of ‘Every Little Thing ‘ but John took lead. There are others but my brains not working.

I know. I know. I need to compile the body parts list. I will get around to it.

However, I just now made this connection. Name two songs along with their lyrics that have words that are slipping away.

Paul Simon is slip sliding away and Andrew Gold never wants to let her slip away. And they are good songs too.

You never said Beatles a-hard-days-night-paul-11
