that progression (in various keys) - is used in millions of pop songs.

Although, yes, Paul seemed very fond of it - it's older than he is - it's older than dirt. I believe God was whistling that progression when he hung the stars.

Yeah, I thought I had that somewhere before. It's a nice lick though.

Isn't that used for the arpeggio sequence at the end of You Never Give Me Your Money?

No, that's C, G, A if I recall correctly.
You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

Not sound, technically, but lyrics-wise, there's a few patterns here and there.

Two songs in a row on Rubber Soul both have the same rhyme for the chorus/bridge (listen/missing) - You Won't See Me and Nowhere Man.

And whilst not Beatles originals, notice the similarities between these couple of first lines from two songs on Beatles For Sale:

Hold me close and tell me how you feel

Tell me love is real

and

Let me know, honey, how you feel

Tell the truth now, is love real

I personally think that a lot of the songs on Please Please Me sound similar to each other, but that's probably because they were all recorded at the same time and basically with the same equipment.

For example, songs like A Taste Of Honey and Baby It's You. Also, Misery and There's A Place.

Paperback Writer and Day Tripper sound very similar to me somehow.

I think that Old Brown Shoe and For You Blue both are very similar.

"White Album - My joint-fave Beatles album along with Revolver. They show the two sides of Beatles. Revolver's very controlled - even though it's also very innovative. The White Album's playful and almost ramshackle. It's like a scrapbook kept by a genius. Fantastic stuff."

"Can't Buy Me Love" and "Another Girl" have quite a few similarities

I used to think Hello Goodbye and Getting Better sounded the same and used to get them mixed up all the time.

I don't know about Beatles songs like other Beatle songs ………I'm sure there are lots. John admitted to using 3 blind mice in a number of his songs form 'All You Need Is Love' onwards…..'Instant karma'

But I bet loads out there noticed the similarity of the 'La la liiis' in Paul's 'I've Just Seen A Face' and Paul's 'The Boxer'

Here they are together…..Making a point Paul?

Haha yeah! "...And on that same subject, John's very paranoid that you stole his "Goo-goo gajoobs" to use in "Mrs. Robinson"...

Roll Over Beethoven and One After 909? I had listened to the latter first and when I heard Roll Over Beethoven it outrightly reminded me of One After 909.

Those standard rock 'n roll songs in general sound very similar. Same beat, same rhythm and often even a very similar melody.
