OfflineHi, I was searching around on The Beatles Rarity (Great site might I mention) and I came across the Yellow Submarine sound effects, so I gave a listen. It was really cool, but my ear heard a paul is dead reference. Give yourself a listen: http://www.thebeatlesrarity.com/page/2/
It's at about a minute through, and is heard through the band's chatter. (NOTE: I do not believe in this rumor, it's just fun finding these things out.)

Hmmm….I certainly don't doubt there is something to be heard there amidst the chatter but I can't seem to be able to discern it.

But that's the beauty of it, no? If you want to hear it you will.
Personally, I think we need something new. PiD is a bit played out.

It's still kind of neat. And I feel a little accomplished that I'm the only one who figured this out.

I heard it! In 0:55 someone (maybe John by the content of the sentence) said:
"Yeah, Paul is dead, and he never paid me back those three pounds I give him…" or something like that.

OfflineWell, the Paul is Dead rumour started in 1969 I believe so it couldn't be a deberate reference. If it is actually in there then it's juts a pretty weird coincidence. Coincidences don't prove anything though, especially not something as silly as someone being replaced by an exact double. I wonder how many Paul twins there are in Liverpool?

One of the earliest radio broadcasts about the hoax can be heard on my site. If you are really interested you can hear it. It's about 20 minutes long. http://www.thebeatlesrarity.co…..l-is-dead/. There is also a somewhat interesting book disecting the hoax called The Walrus Was Paul that isn't too hard to find. It's amazing how many "so called" clues (actually hundreds!) are interpretted in the whole thing.

OfflineI was going to say as much. There's a little-known story about a girl whom Paul allegedly got pregnant in the early 60s, and was paid by NEMS to keep quiet. Here's the entry from The Beatles Diary by Barry Miles (a friend of Paul's and his biographer), about 10 July 1964, the Liverpool premiere of A Hard Day's Night:
The only sour note to the day came from the uncle of Anita Cochrane, who plastered Liverpool with 30,000 leaflets recounting his niece's affair with Paul and its outcome. Anita, an 18-year-old Beatles fan, discovered that she was pregnant after partying with Paul at Stuart Sutcliffe's flat in Gambler Terrace. Unable to contact him by registered letters and telegrams, she eventually retained a lawyer who threatened legal action. Allegedly, it was only then that NEMS responded, offering her £5 a week maintenance. Brian Epstein is said to have intervened personally and offered £5,000 in exchange for renouncing all claims on Paul (published figures vary depending on source). The agreement said that Anita must never bring Paul to court or say or imply that he was the father of her child, Philip Paul Cochrane, nor must she ever reveal the terms of the agreement. All seemed to be well until today's civic reception for The Beatles when her outraged uncle intervened.
I think it was not uncommon for Epstein to have to do step in for some damage limitation while The Beatles were on tour. Those boys put it around quite a bit, and girls are said to have fallen pregnant on a number of occasions. Keeping it quiet would never be an option these days, with the mass media, tabloid press and rolling news channels.
There's a book idea in there somewhere. "The Lost Children of The Beatles"?
He's now said to be known as Philip Howarth: http://findarticles.com/p/news…..ntent;col1
