But If you with Joe Cocker's version, I'm very sorry to admit it but yes, it's kind of cheesy.
Joe Cocker's version made me cringe. He sung the song on the season finale of American Idol this year…….I had nightmares.
Erghh.. I guess I didn't explain myself.
I really really like Joe Cocker's version, but the one in The Wonder Years TV show intro. I always thought it sung with a lot of heart. Blame it to the TV Show. It's one of the best I've seen. (And I wasn't not a teen anymore in the 90s)
(I think this was mentioned in The Best Covers topic)

OfflineI love Good Morning Good Morning. I think when you look at the unbelievable Lennon songs around this time, ie Strawberry Fields Forever, A Day In The Life, I Am The Walrus, LSD, it's easy to overlook this short song about just an average day.
I don't know if any are really overrated, but Sgt. Pepper seems like one of those albums where the concept of the album is greater than the actual songs. They just were in full experimentation mode and took some otherwise average songs and spiced them up a bit. But I guess my least favorite song is Fixing A Hole.

OfflineI always liked "Lovely Rita", especially the intro/outro sections. It's one rougher, less-produced songs on the album, and so while the rest of the songs are pretty clean, it sort of pales beside them (production-wise).
Most overrated: ??????
Most underrated: Lovely Rita, When I'm 64, + Fixing a Hole

OfflineOverrated: Ummm… Ummm… Ummn…. Oh crap! Maybe "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds." Maybe. I've heard it described as one of their best, but it's just great in my opinion, not fantastic.
Underrated: "She's Leaving Home." That was easy. The instrumentals are beautiful, and Paul's so… augh! I can't think of a good enough adjective! And then John's "We gave her most of our lives…" works so well…. Gah! I'm going to have to listen to it again. (I also think it's kind of funny how, once the final strains have been played, "Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite!" starts right in.)

OfflineOverrated -- A Day in the Life -- it is moody, poetic, haunting, happy, whatever you'd like -- but it has some flaws, particularly the middle section that comes off as inconsistent. It is a grand conclusion to a fine album, but still overrated.
Underrated -- Within You Without You -- Harrison brought something unconventional to Sgt. Pepper, an Indian symphony full of so many echoes and orchestration that I am surprised it has been dismissed as pretentious, not praised as an artistic achievement.

OfflineI find it interesting that although the entire album is overrated, there are underrated songs like 'Within You Without You," "Good Morning Good Morning," and the sergent pepper reprise. I like how they put Stu's picture on the album cover (had to be John's idea)

OfflineHow about some love for "Lovely Rita"?
It didn't even make the Rolling Stone list of the top 100 Beatles songs. The songs has fun subject matter, tissue-and-comb playing and a truly psychedelic ending piece. Yet nobody ever mentions this song as anything other than filler on the album.

Overrated: Sgt Pepper/With A Little Help (neither track is that good and gets the album off to a dreary start)

I've been thinking for a while that you might like Stu because of your avatar…
Indeed, it was John who insisted having his photo for the cover. Although it's hardly noticeable if you don't actively search for it…
As for me, I don't really like Within You Without You, but I can hardly call it overrated since most people don't like it, anyway
Like many others, I think She's Leaving Home is sort of underrated, but then again, it certainly doesn't seem to be underrated among Beatles fans, so I don't know

OfflineNot a huge fan of WI64 (ok in context but outside pretty mundane tho Pauls Scottish "yur knee" is a highlight) however the isolated clarinets are a real fun listening experience. Apple really should officially release the multitracks for the later beatles albums so everyone can hear how much fun they are.
