OfflineFor ages I'd always read that the mono version was the superior and definitive version of the album, but all I ever had growing up in the 80s and 90s was my parent's 60s stereo version vinyl and my 1987-issue stereo CD. When I got the Beatles in Mono box a while ago the mono version blew me away and I can't listen to the stereo any more. It was like hearing the album for the first time again!
What is everyone else's preferred version? Honestly, since I've gotten the mono box set, those are the only mixes I ever listen to any more of those first 10 albums.

OfflineThere are another couple of threads like this one – though one started with a specific about how mono and stereo differed as ways of reproducing sound and turned into a which is a better. I will just say, as I have said in other places, The Beatles finished mix of The Beatles (White Album) was the stereo and not the mono.
