So I played some Lennon tunes and she was pacified. She especially enjoyed "Cold Turkey."

Take into consideration that if it did come from Norman's John bio (which I've read but I confess that I can't remember if this quote is in there or not) that he has a MASSIVE bias against Paul, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. After reading Shout and Lennon:A Life (both by Norman), one would conclude that John was 100% the genius behind the Beatles, Paul was an insecure yet egomaniacal manipulator who manipulated everything in his favor at poor John's expense, and that George and Ringo were simpletons and mediocre boobs who ...

You can start with any song, it fills in the words in all, but the obvious start is Across the Universe. And then the obvious first word to enter is "words". But it take any valid combination of letters automatically. So, before it takes "words", it takes "wo" and "word". Took me a little while to realise why I'd typed "rds". As a hint I'd get rid of the obvious little words first that begin other words - "a", "an", "the", "he", ...

I had a GREAT Beatley moment tonight! My oldest son & two of his friends wrote a one-act play and submitted it to a local theatre festival. It was one of two one-act plays selected. The play has been running this week and I went to see it tonight with a friend. I was so surprised when the play started and "Eleanor Rigby" was playing on the speakers!! Great choice, kid!

Oh! The play was great too! Very deep, but comedic and sweet too. Cool night!

What genre were/are the Beatles? While the early albums were for the most part straightforward rock with a few curveballs, the band eventually made albums and singles that were completely uncategorizable by modern standards. "Yellow Submarine" "Elenor Rigby", "Within You Without You", "Hey Jude", "When I'm 64", "Honey Pie"... The list goes on. No band today could ever release songs in so many styles and expect any success.

I'm actually hard-pressed to name one other band that ever did it. The Rolling Stones had a few diversions, but even they stuck mostly to a formula. The ...
