Ringo Starr will release his new album, provisionally entitled "2012" on Monday 30th January (internationally) and Tuesday 31st January 2012 (in the U.S.).  The album will be released on CD, vinyl and in digital form.

 

It was produced by Ringo Starr, mixed by Ringo Starr and Bruce Sugar and was recorded at Roccabella UK

 

The Tracklisting is as follows:

 

1. Slow Down (Richard Starkey/Joe Walsh)

2. In Liverpool (Richard Starkey/Dave Stewart)

3. Wonderful (Richard Starkey/Gary Nicholson)

4. Step Lightly (Richard Starkey)

5. Rock Island Line (Arrangement by Richard Starkey)

6. Samba (Richard Starkey/Van Dyke Parks)

7. Think It Over (Buddy Holly/Norman Perry)

8. Wings (Richard Starkey/Vince Poncia)

9. Anthem (Richard Starkey/Glen Ballard)

 

Of the nine tracks two are covers:

"Think It Over"** (Ringo's contribution to the "Listen To Me: Buddy Holly" tribute CD) and "Rock Island Line".

 

Two are new versions of his own songs – "Wings" (from "Ringo the 4th") and "Step Lightly" (from the "Ringo" album).

Gotta love Ringo's ability to surround himself with fine musicians. Ben Tench of the Heartbreakers is a nice surprise. Thanks for sharing the info.

Yeah, and it's nice to see Joe Walsh helping Ringo out again.  :)

 

The album's currently available on pre-order from Amazon (UK) priced at £14:00.  I've ordered mine already, and this is the (rather uninventive) cover:

I got an email from Amazon saying that the album's release has been pushed back a week, which means it'll be out on Monday 6th February internationally and Tuesday 7th February in the US.
