Another reason why “Revolver ” is such a cool album title is that the word itself is (almost) spelled the same backwards as forwards, and that coincides nicely with the backwards recording featured on the record.
Also of note: The album ends with the “…the beginning”, so there’s that idea of “revolving” from the finish back to the start again. And even at the “real” beginning, we have George counting “1, 2, 3, 4…” and then starting again with “1, 2” – another example of going back to the beginning of something. That song’s guitar break repeats itself at song’s end. The title “She Said” repeats itself immediately, as do the call-and-response vocals in “Yellow Submarine ” John sings of “floating downstream” in one song; then reverses direction and floats upstream in another – truly he is “Here, There And Everywhere “.

Offline When I was younger,I always thought the title was gun related, and I’d heard Happiness Is A Warm Gun , so I assumed Happiness was on Revolver , because of the gun thing, so anyway I remember picking up Revolver to look at the track listing, expecting to see Happiness on there. When I couldn’t find it,I was like “what the hell” hahahaha. It confused the hell out of me 
. My mum explained it to me “Oh, now I get it” hahaha

Offline There’s a snippet from an interview with George during Volume 8 of ‘The Beatles – The Days In Their Life’, a 30+ hour document of their story first broadcast on radio back in 1981, where he discusses tossing around ideas for titles while on tour, he said:
“I remember specifically on that ‘Revolver ‘ album… It was good because it went ’round and ’round… It seems so simple… It’s perfect…”
It was the beginning of a Revolution (we all want to change the world) in Recorded Music History… Nothing was ever the same after this one… George was right… “It’s perfect”…:-)
