But would have John allowed the Abbey Road medley miniature (Uncle Albert/AdmiralHalsey)? Would they take another look at All Things Must Pass? Would George have allowed 2 songs only? How would My Sweet Lord have fit, seeing as how he wrote it while with Delaney and Bonnie? Would something like Every Night get past the test of George Martin? The answer to all of these is no. So any attempt, if you want some background to the attempt, is wasting your time. Just like typing this was for me: a time waster.

My book is a serious history book, but a couple of pages from the end I can't help but "imagine" the next album. My list is similar to I Me Mine's above, but I think you have to throw in a Ringo song:

Side 1: Maybe I'm Amazed, Imagine, My Sweet Lord, Every Night, Jealous Guy/Child of Nature, Junk.

And none of I Me Mine's selection were songs inspired by the break up. None of John's primal songs (except possibly Working Class Hero), no Too Many People, no Wah-Wah.

Conceptually, musically, artistically a resounding… failure. As I type this, I realise why they broke up. They couldn't work together. Or, as this shows, neither do their songs. I meant to type this when I listened to it in May, and it is aggravating. (Oh, and any attempts to create a 1970/1971 album need to take into consideration that songs were inspired by the break up. Therefor those songs can't be on a Beatles album.)

But you want a really good Beatles remix album I would suggest "The Grey Album" by DJ Danger Mouse. It's basically the acapella tracks of Jay-Z's Black Album mashed together with bits of the White Album. Not for people who aren't fans of Hip Hop however.
