What is everybody’s favorite song John, Paul, George, or Ringo wrote, but gave to another artist or group?

“A World Without Love” is a very good song that Paul gave to Peter and Gordon. I like their accents when they say the word “lock.”a-hard-days-night-paul-8

I’ve always liked I’ll Be On My Way (*love* the BBC version) and That Means A Lot (love the Help ! outtake version). World Without Love and Goodbye (Paul’s demo is exquisite) are also great ones.

World Without Love would be my fave but the demo of One and One is Two is very cute, especially in its sound quality as it sounds stuck in time (i havent heard whoever covered its version, i forget their name – but the song did nothing). So is Im In Love.

I always remember how John thought World Without love was funny because of its opening line “please lock me away”.

Good call. I prefer Paul’s version to the Badfinger one, always have

John wrote Bad To Me, and there’s a ’63 demo around before he gave it away to whoever.

Is there a boot that has demos of all the songs they gave away? I’d love to hear Beatles versions of them all, not the artists who eventually did them.

For Come And Get It , just take a look at the Anthology version. Paul played all the instruments. As for Bad To Me..

There’s a World Without Love one too, but it’s pretty bad quality and hard to tell it’s Paul.

How about Goodbye? It’s just gorgeous…I wish it’d ended up on the White Album just as is.

Has anyone asked posted this;  How many songs did John & Paul write for other people ?? I know a few notably for Cilla, Peter & Gordon, Billy J Kramer. Paul wrote a very good one for the Everly Brothers in the 1980s.   Any more?

Paul wrote Come And Get It for Badfinger, which was recorded exactly like the demo that The Beatles made for them in July of 1969 to ensure it being a hit.

They gave George’s beautiful Sour Milk Sea to Jackie Lomax in 1968 to jumpstart his career as an apple artist.

Then you can’t forget the Stone’s first #1 I Wanna Be Your Man

Those are just a few notable ones.

"The pump don't work cause the vandals took the handles!"

-Bob Dylan, Subterranean Homesick Blues

"We could ride and surf together while our love would grow"

-Brian Wilson, Surfer Girl

Would this be considered a song that The Beatles gave away, i’m pretty sure they recorded and released it before The Rolling Stones.
