I have two questions about Eight Days A Week (Complete) from Anthology.
1. Is it just me, or during "I ain't got nothing but love, babe," is there something an octave or two higher that is singing/playing the same melody as the main vocal?
2. What's that weird noise during "Hold me, love me" (I think the second time that those lyrics are sung, but I'm not sure)? It sounds sort of like a trombone, or maybe a snoring elephant- a very, very quiet snoring elephant...

1. It's overspill of the unused Mal Evans penny whistle solo.
2. It's a quietly snoring elephant. A GH Martin idea. Borrowed one from around the corner at London Zoo (Regent's Park). He is/ was a fellow of the Zoological Society you know. The song was originally called Eight Tons a Week referring to the average amount of dung produced by an elephant per week. 'Ooh I need your shovel, I think your wig glue sucks. Mucking out the rhinos, this toupee's barely stuck.
