As for the guitars, I love the riff from I feel fine, the guitars in Ticket to ride, the solos in Taxman and I'm only sleeping and just that whole Revolver sound like you can hear in songs such as She said she said and And your bird can sing.

Revolver sound: yesyesyesyesyes, definitely.

Something is great too.

Since Linde brought up bass, I've always liked the bass playing of Klaus Voormann (he's also the guy who drew the intricate Revolver album cover) on the song "Step Lightly" on the post-Beatles Ringo solo album that was famous for featuring all four Beatles (though on separate tracks).

Voormann plays the bass in a cool jazz style, with some nice "walking bass" riffs here and there. And the bass has a nice deep trebly sound to it, reminiscentof Paul's "fuzz bass" but more restrained (not so "fuzzy").

Also of note:

1) very neat use of clarinets

2) a tap-dancing solo by Ringo!

I love the guitar tone they had during that 1966/Revolver period...really chiming and shimmery but with real balls and crunch behind it.
