Well Please Please Me fits into the article theme, also gives the same discussion aspect as the article that said he sang AYNIS however as PPM was John’s song and originally had his lead vocal.

* Also, Paul has a new Twitter account in Spanish. Get ready for announcements.

You speak Spanish?

Un poco. From high school. :-) And I live in LA, so it’s helpful.

I’m impressed because I’m not aware of other celebs who bother creating Twitter accounts in different languages. It’s very smart.

parlance

Ah okay. We’ll I’ll follow it too, it’ll be a new way to practise my Spanish :)

meanmistermustard said Paul made #21 in the Billboard Rich List, reports Examiner, with $13,769,479.16. Taylor Swift was #1 with a quiet eye-blowing $39,699,575.60 I presume its for the year 2013 but if it was $13m for the tour and the rest from sales of New then this does not include royalties from his back catalogue as surely he made more than a $1m thru the Beatles and his solo work in a year. Anyone know? Oh, and who is Kenny Chesney (#2)? Only singer i know with Chesney in the name is Chesney Hawkes (that two hit wonder) – he also starred in a film called Buddy’s Song which was rather good, or was that the book i’m thinking of?ahdn_paul_01

Kenny Chesney is an awesome country music singer. He grew up in East Tennessee, wetsroosa’s neck of the woods.

——-

For us living outside of America, we can’t really relate to country artists like Kenny Chesney.  His stuff comes across as Christian Republican pro-U.S. propaganda.  Very manufactured Walmart-brand corporate social engineering, more than organic singer-songwriter stuff.

No offense meant to you personally.  It’s just difficult material for non-Americans to take seriously.

E is for 'Ergent'.

All Beatle-related news this morning:

* Interview at The Examiner with David Bedford, author of Liddypool: The Birthplace of the Beatles on his new book, The Fab One Hundred and Four.” [x-posted at the new Beatles books thread]

* From The Examiner (more at the link):

Matt Kass, who is one-half of the Modern Inventors with musical partner Josh Benus and who are performing at this year’s SXSW on March 13, revealed the group’s very modern electro dub pop version of Paul McCartney ‘s “Every Night ” got a compliment from the Beatle. You can hear their version on Soundcloud.

The cover was created for Philadelphia deejay Helen Leicht to play on WXPN-FM as a tribute to Paul McCartney ‘s 70th birthday and became popular on the station. Their version eventually made it to McCartney, who emailed the group and said he was “chuffed” by their cover, Kass says. They’ll be performing at 8 p.m. March 13 at the Tap Room. Their latest album, “Trains & Aeroplanes,” is available on Amazon.com and iTunes.

* From Japan News via Beatles News (more at the link):

Kazuo Yairi, known for making guitars beloved by such top musicians around the world as Paul McCartney and Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi, has died. He was 81.

From Variety (more at the link):

Filmmaker Josh Wakely’s production company, Grace, has acquired the worldwide rights to the Beatles’ music catalog in an agreement with Sony/ATV Music Publishing.

Grace will have the rights to the group’s song catalog for an animated children’s series called “Beat Bugs.”  The series will be based on the original characters and world created by Wakely.

While Grace has acquired rights to Beatles’ songs, however, it has not acquired rights to the recordings. Other artists will have to perform the songs.

  • Wings: Speed Of Sound – Paul McCartney Archive Collection deluxe edition (2 CDs +DVD): June 17, 2014
