Anyways, now that we’re back on track…here’s a nice Beatles documentary parody with a twist. From the “Mr. Show, with Bob and David” sketch comedy show, the Monty Python’s Flying Circus of the ’90s. (The first 40 seconds or so aren’t relevant, but were kinda necessary due to the stream-of-consciousness nature of the program.)

I can’t find the picture on the Internet, but that one of Ringo playing the bongos with a funny face (I have the A Hard Day’s Night CD, and the pic is in the liner notes booklet) always makes me laugh. Anyone know what I’m talking about?

It was put together by a fan and given he didn’t the amount of choices that George and Giles Martin had with Love, I think it’s a remarkable job. Of course, just for those who don’t know The Rutles too well, the songs “Fool on the Pill” and “Denny Laine” do not exist. They are just titles that appear on the cover of the US compilation Tragical History Tour, along with such greats as “W.C. Fields Forever” and “I Am The Waitress”. “Ouch!” of course does exist, the title track from The Rutles second film (made in colour!).
Just imagine, in a parallel universe, there are people typing on the Pre-Fab Forum of The Rutles Rubicon, saying what a great pastiche of Ron, Dirk, Stig and Barry The Beatles are!
