Oh that was the reason? Well, that makes more sense than the official one he was giving about wanting to be more present for the rearing of his kid. It made me wonder how his older children felt about that.

This is detailed in Geoff Emerick's love let... uh.. book Here, There and Everywhere. From that point on, he cut back more and more, quitting completely by the early 1980s...

My guess would be late 80's, early 90's.  I'm totally glad he quit, but man did he make it look good.a-hard-days-night-paul-7
