Agreed about She's Leaving Home. Their voices blend so well together! I love the part in Emerick's book about John and Paul recording those vocals. It really does showcase what great vocalists both of them are, and it shows their unique chemistry.

Above when I was talking about Paul's voice compared to John's, I didn't mean to imply Paul's was more unique than John's. I actually couldn't say whose is more unique. John has that characteristic hoarseness and nasally tone that not a lot of people can pin down in a convincing manner (though sometimes I think George can do it, ...

I like the songs that have narrative like the songs you listed. but my favorite is "She's Leaving Home". He sings it flawlessly, Imo.

Not a big fan of Pauls vocal on Oh! Darling, always feel he was trying too hard. Whereas John could have nailed it in a few takes Paul had to go in early to Abbey Road for a few days to get his voice warmed up. In friendlier times of long ago it wouldnt have been a surprise if Paul had offered it to John but by this time ego's were up as were barriers. There is no way Paul would have even thought of doing so with Yoko in the studio.

I agree with you. I know John could sing with angst without a problem, but Paul sells the song very well. I love it. It's in fact, one of my favorite Paul's romantic songs.

Paul was very diversified, He could sing a soft ballad as well as a rauncy rocker with the best of them. In one of John's last interviews he said Paul should have let him sing 'Oh Darling' because it fit his style more but Macca's vocals were very intense on that song.

Haha...meanmistermustard, that was me! He really was at it like a rabbit. I can totally see that being the correct interpretation of the song if I didn't suspect it was just another one of Paul's nice little short stories. It might be true, but Paul wouldn't have thought of it being autobiographical.

In all my loving i cant help but think that Paul is cheating on his girl, kissing someone else whilst wishing she was there instead "i'll pretend that im kissing the lips i am missing and hope that my dreams will come true". Maybe because Paul was like it like a rabbit, as someone put it in the choose between two things thread. Sorry that i cant remember who wrote that but it was a classic line.

My favorite Paul's vocals are without any question Paperback Writer. The way he sings…. specially the first lines ... the voice has this.. I dunno how to explain it. It's like velvet touching you.

My other favorite is All my Loving. You believe that he's telling you those words.
