Thanks Dark Horse,

I feel so stupid -- all this time (years!) I forgot about the mirror image effect.  I just looked at myself in the mirror holding my guitar and I see it is like you said, just C major (with his pinky on the G bass).

I realized I made a little mistake in my last comment: the G bass for the C chord would be using the ring finger, not the pinky.
