My friend @davzoorz  (who is member on the forum but I dont think he’s ever posted) gave me a CD by a group called Metronomy. Although I was quite underwhelmed I must say it’s growing on me.

Anyway the music resembles the McCartney II album so I lent him that and he really liked it (hence he joined the forum)

His favorites were Coming Up and Waterfalls but he said he couldn’t stand Temporary Secretary .  a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

Thinking of giving him RAM to listen to considering it was the first ‘Indie’ album.

I read the title as “turning on Paul McCartney “…now Paulettes that IS a step too far a-hard-days-night-john-7

Just don’t send him cheeseburgers a-hard-days-night-paul-4

And in reply to the actual question, nope…well my brother does like some Wings songs

@Mr Bellamy

Mr. Bellamy said, “His favorites were Coming Up and Waterfalls”

Tell him that “Coming Up (Live at Glasgow)” is even better.

No one other than my husband, although he is still more of a Lennon fan. a-hard-days-night-george-10

Most people I know either already know Paul’s music or they don’t care.

And I misread it as “turning others in to Paul McCartney “. I’m like, hmmm…

I do try to get my sister to join the Beatles fandom, and becoming a Paul fan is a part of the process, I guess. She knew the Beatles way before me, though, and Twist And Shout has remained one of her all time favorite songs. It’s safe to say that her taste of music is flexible – she likes almost anything – which has made my constant persuading as difficult as it is easy. Perhaps she may not become a beatlemaniac, but I do catch her singing their songs every Now And Then , and she listens along to the record player. She can name all the Beatles albums, though, and is obviously a John girl.
My dad was a Beatles fan before me as well, but more a John fan at that. I do believe that I’ve made him appreciate Paul a bit more than he used to, albeit he can’t stand Wings!

OK – ‘Flowers In The Dirt ‘, ‘Flaming Pie ‘ and ‘Memory Almost Full ‘ all ordered – can’t wait – haven’t heard any of them before.

o well, i know “Flowers In The Dirt ” is supposed to be a really good album, but i’m sorry, i don’t like it. maybe it’s just that i’m not into 80s music in general… i really love ram, chaos and creation & flaming pie. and i’m a bit into wings too, i must admit. my husband is not particularly fond of paul’s music (or the beatles), but he really likes rockestra, magneto & titanium man and such. he’s even listening to Hi, Hi, Hi on his car stereo now (with the kids in the back, lol). it’s so funny, how he never liked paul and how he’s starting to now :) he keeps asking me for song names and such, so i know he really IS interested.

other than him, well my boys (6 & 4) REALLLY like paul and the beatles. my little one never stops singing the same old songs – i have to tell him to shut up which i never thought i would :) my mum’s favourite is yesterday, but i guess i’ve heard it too often now, i skip it every time it comes on. i like the hidden treasures … songs no one talks about.

btw, one of my favs is silly love songs … how can someone not like it?

hugs jj x

I’m not a huge fan of Ram It’s not a particularly accessible album.

Give him Chaos And Creation or Venus And Mars .

When ever Monkberry Moon Delight comes up on my playlist with friends everyone loves it, and then their like thats Paul McCartney ?! I don’t think none fans realized how deep the Beatles, John and Paul went with music. That they covered so much ground touching in every genre. I think alot of newer generations just see clips of screaming girls and think they were a boy band.

I’m actually thinking of giving him some Fireman stuff since he liked McCartney II .

So the day New came out,  and me and my cousin walked to school together that day, and I was playing New on repeat because it was really exciting and I love that song, and she likes it too, and my cousin has shown other people the song, and gotten other people to like it.

I recently got one of my band-mates into New. Previously I’d been making him listen to Pink Floyd (at his request) in return for his making me listen to things, but I’m almost out of Floyd albums so I’m turning to Beatles now… he’s familiar with some songs, of course, but no proper albums; I’ll change that a-hard-days-night-john-6

Next up is probably Revolver . More updates to follow.
