I was thinking about that myself a couple of days ago. But I imagine he looks back and laughs, conaidering he was good-natured about Stephen Colbert bringing up the trading card with his favorite dish being roast beef.

What ever made them think of the butcher cover. Not attacking them for it, but it just gets to me.

Was it not  Robert Whitaker’s concept, he being the session photographer, that the 4 went with as it was completely different to every other shoot they had done?

Hey, Paul, trcanberra mentioned the other day that he received “Electric Arguments” in the mail. That prompted me to listen to the album again.

“So, Paul, in the song “Sun Is Shining” you sing “Every morning I get up / Look out the window I get up.” Why did you feel the need to sing “I get up” twice?” asks Ahhh Girl innocently and sweetly while batting her lashes.

I think it works quite well. I like the repetition. My guess is that he did too :)

Why did John play a 3/4 sized electric guitar in the early days?

I would ask if there was anything that he would change about his time with The Beatles, whether it was that the band lasted longer into the 70’s or 80’s, or maybe a song, or just his relationship with the other Beatles.

Paul, in your song “House of Wax” you have this line:

“Buried deep below a thousand layers lay
the answer to it all”

If I were to start peeling back your psychological and emotional layers, what wild adventure would I be undertaking? What would I find when I reach layer 1,000? What would be the answer to you? Do you even know? Or would it be a journey of discovery for you too?

On a more lighthearted note, Paul, to go along with the mattress and pillow question, what is your favorite sleeping position? On your back, on your side, on your stomach, on Nancy? I can imagine you are a sprawler. Is that Paulverted enough?a-hard-days-night-george-10a-hard-days-night-ringo-6paul-mccartney

Paul, when you listen to one of your albums, do you skip any songs? If you say “yes” trcanberra might get a tad miffed, but he’s cool if others besides him skip songs. So it is ok to let us know if you do.

Oh, yeah, do you have a preference among formats: vinyl, cd, or mp3? Please elaborate.

meanmistermustard said

On that topic.

Paul, is there any song of yours you look back on and think “dear God , what the hell is that? That sucks big time”.

Is it ok if i ever get a time machine to go back to the With The Beatles Hold Me Tight sessions and sabotage it cause the song sucks like no other Beatles song – and then spin forward to the Rod Rose Speedway Hold Me Tight recording and sabotage that as well? How on earth did you manage to write two completely different songs under the same title and which both are unlistenable crap, cause that is one hell of an achievement? “What do you mean i “have to leave now, the interview is over”!? Ok, ok, i’m going. Geez man. Get off me. I can make my own way out. Thank you.”

I can’t find it now, but I’ve definitely read a quote by Paul saying that he thinks some of the early Wings stuff is really forgettable and isn’t proud of it; sometimes people mention songs from that era and he thinks “uh oh, that’s embarrassing, what album was that on again?” I guess you can chalk it down partly to the forests of grass he was smoking at the time, plus his struggle to find his feet again post-Beatles, but I remember the quote surprised me as you very rarely hear Paul criticise his own work.

OK. I wanted to keep this conversation so I did my best to reconstruct it from the copy/paste job I did to try to save it.

Oh, my. What was this in response to? With all these roll backs and such, this could get funny and/or strange.

I was thinking bonus tracks is all – and he had a song called Ode To A Koala Bear as a b-side and I don’t think it has shown up as a bonus track anywhere yet.

Uh-oh. I got my repost in the wrong spot. This whole conversation now belongs in the impossible to derail thread. Look at the train wreck I created.

EDIT: for the record we had been talking about bonus tracks on “Wings At The Speed Of Sound .” Sally G and Walking In The Park With Eloise.

Better to have in the arguably wrong thread (it does fit here and its not that it matters which one anyway) than not at all.

As long as no one throws in We All Stand Together as a dodgy one of Paul’s. I adore his Frog Song and the fabulous b-side not on any official albumheart

Interesting, he may well think it makes an ever stronger statement in light of his current views.

Since it is meant to get to us, looks like it served its purpose.  From my hazy recollection it was meant to be a comment on the Vietnam War?
