So fun to read DrBeatle and Ontherun!  Brings back great memories from my November/12 show.  I too have been to many, many live shows over the past many years and I think Paul has ruined any future shows for me.  The McCartney show experience is "magical" :)   My God, you are seeing a BEATLE live!!  Can't wait to read more…..

Here are my photos: they got worse as it got darker and the lights got brighter. Also we were much closer than these suggest even though I had my camera on full zoom. Still, enjoy!

Interesting:  from Dr. Beatles' song list, it looks like Paul only sang one Lennon-sung song -- "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite".  I wonder if that is a particular favorite of Paul's among John's repertoire?

Yeah, that was the only Lennon-sung song he did, and he also did Something (George, obviously). Although interestingly enough the PA music at the beginning before the show started consisted of remixes and covers of Paul, Wings, and Beatles songs as well as John's "Power to the People."

Just found this, too: The Boston Globe curated 21 twitter pics and vids from last night, some nice differing visual perspectives on the show:

Thanks for sharing DrB.

I so wanted to go to that show last night, but could not justify the ticket prices being charged by the ticket brokers. If I am going to see Macca live, I want to be able to smell his pre-show meal on his breath. StubHub was asking for up to $1800 for those types of seats.

For now, I will live vicariously through those of you who have seen this tour!

Can buy Joe love! If you're going to buy that song, album, or T-shirt anyway; please consider using these links to support the Beatles Bible: Amazon | iTunes

GREAT review and pic's.  I thoroughly enjoyed reading that :)

It's funny that Paul use's a lot of the same lines in his concerts.  I thought he might mix it up a little?  His "that is the only wardrobe change for this evening" was also used at our concert back in November.  As well as the story about Eric Clapton and Jimmy Hendrix, the "this one is for the Wings fans out there" before starting Nineteen Hundred & Eighty Five, etc.  I guess he just sticks with what he knows?  Interesting…..

Thanks again for sharing DrBeatle!  Great review, great pic's! apple01

Aw, thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it…I love to write anyway, but writing that made me think about it (plus I was listening to the bootleg of it as I listened) and kept me on the high I've been on since

I knew about most of his canned bit of banter going in, and I thought it would annoy me but it didn't one bit.

Seems plausible since the album SPLHCB is often in Paul's playlist, as well as other albums by the Beach Boys as I can recall.

"And in the End the Love you take is equal to the Love you make"
"When I was a robber *Piano Chord* in Boston Place"
"Let's hope this turns out pretty darn good huh"
"Pete may be the best, but Ringo is the star"
Paul:"Don't be nervous John"
John:"I 'm not"

I went and saw Paul in Miluakee yesterday, or I guess two days ago now, and omg was it a great show.

The kid in front of me didn't seem too thrilled about being there, though. He was sitting down playing a game on his phone basically the whole time. Like Paul McCartney is the greatest most exciting and talented thing to happen since Jesus Christ, and that kid didn't even care. He was even plugging his ears for the first couple songs too (i guess he might just have sensitive ears, but still).

Then there were all these people who left before the encores. They missed like the greatest part. I would not have been okay leaving if I hadn't heard Paul sing Yesterday, I mean, how could anybody be okay with that?

And the drummer Abe Laboriel, is crazy. He goes hard. He's a really good drummer. The whole band is fantastic, though.

At one point, I think it was after Hi Hi Hi, a man in front of me turned around and said "this man's amazing," and that pretty much sums it all up. Paul truly is amazing. His voice is so good, it was even better than the other times I have seen him, and his set list is crazy good. I think this was the best concert of his I've been to.

Speaking of "Hi Hi Hi" -- in an interview I read in approximately 1986 in some fan magazine (before the Internet existed!), Paul noted the amusing fact that the person who transcribed the lyrics for the songbook misunderstood him.  His lyrics at one point say:

"I want you to lie on the bed

get you ready for my polygon…"

But in the songbook, it was written down as:

"I want you to lie on the bed

get you ready for my body gun…"

Paul noted that "body gun" was much better.
