Well that was something. Concert of the year for me, do doubt about it.
http://www.beatlesbible.com/20…..m-cardiff/
I got the setlist at the end from the sound desk. I got two songs – I'm Looking Through You and Here Today – on video (the camera was a bit shaky in the second so I didn't upload). I've also got loads of photos I haven't gone through yet, but I might make a little gallery out of them.
Wow, the songs, though. What a showman – Macca and his band played for just about three hours, with energy to spare at the end. The highlight for me was probably Live And Let Die, but Hey Jude and Helter Skelter were wonderful. I've had Got To Get You Into My Life in my head all day too. So many memories.
Paul's concert in Hyde Park, London will be streamed on YouTube tonight from 8.30pm UK time: http://www.youtube.com/bornHIVfree
Hey! I'm glad you like it!! I'm looking forward to see the gallery!
I'm checking that concert today…

OfflineWatching the YouTube stream right now and reliving last night's show in Cardiff.
Whew. There aren't words. It may quite possibly have been the best three hours of my life thus far. I cried two or three times – two for sure, but can't remember if there was another instance of tears. haha. And I got a scarf, which was epic for me 'cause I collect football scarfs. My first Macca show (never had the means before) and I really hope it won't be the last…maybe next summer. I know it's not certain, but something felt distinctly nostalgic about this, like he was saying goodbye without confirming it. Just a feeling I had.
Joe, incredible, right?

Oh yeah, totally. I didn't buy any merchandise apart from a programme, but I don't really wear band t-shirt etc. I was really pleased to get the setlist though. I waited by the stage afterwards and the roadies were all busy derigging, so I walked up to the sound desk and the girl on the mixing desk was happy to give it to me. Just a tip for those going to see him in future – don't bother the people on the stage – they have to disassemble everything as soon as possible and generally ignore those in the auditorium.
The concert was so good. It's funny, I've seen clips of him live before, and have heard the Good Evening NYC album, but there's nothing like actually being there. I watched the Hyde Park show on YouTube last night and it didn't really move me in the same way (it was great and everything, but didn't bowl me over). There's something just wonderful about hearing Paul play Blackbird, Hey Jude, Let It Be etc while you're in the same building.
I didn't put together a gallery from the Cardiff show as I was busy last night jailbreaking and unlocking an iPhone (quite an interesting process if you're a bit of a geek like me). I'll crop and upload the images tonight. Incidentally, here's the new boot-up screen for my hacked phone – I thought I'd substitute one Apple for another:
Oh. An Apple smiley. Why didn't I think of that before?
Sorry, back on topic. As far as I know these are the forthcoming dates. There's a bit of a break before the next stage.
Saturday 10th July – AT&T Stadium San Francisco
Tuesday 13th July – Rio Tinto Stadium, Salt Lake City
Thursday 15th July – Pepsi Center Denver
Saturday 24th July – Sprint Center Kansas
Monday 26th July – Bridgestone Arena Nashville
Wednesday 28th July – Time Warner Cable Arena Charlotte
Sunday 8th August – Air Canada Centre Toronto
Monday 9th August – Air Canada Centre Toronto
Thursday 12th August – Bell Centre Montreal
Saturday 14th August – Wachovia Center, Philadelphia
Sunday 15th August – Wachovia Center, Philadelphia
Wednesday 18th August – CONSOL Energy Center Pittsburgh
Thursday 19th August – CONSOL Energy Center Pittsburgh
Wow, you were really close to the stage, weren't you? Now I REALLY want to go see him live. Ah well… For now I'll have to make do with my Good Evening New York City DVD. Or I could go to the US and see him… *strokes imaginary beard*
I guess it depends on the venue. I left my DSLR at home but wish I'd taken it – other people had them. It said on the ticket that professional audio/video etc equipment wouldn't be allowed in, but people had some fairly decent cameras. I can't say whether this is the case for the entire tour or just the Cardiff show.

OfflineI don't really do band shirts, either. I think I might have one Beatles t-shirt, and the only Beatle merch I have are tasteful things I've amassed to decorate the sitting room in my flat in America; I'm not like the bloke in the video with floor to ceiling memorabilia, just an art canvas or two and a little Yellow Sub corgi. However, as a huge football nut, I do collect the football scarfs, so when I saw them at the gig walking away empty-handed wasn't really an option. I was pretty stoked; it'll get pride of place now.
Agreed, mate – the YouTube thing didn't really compare, but it was a nice way to kind of relive the previous night. We were up in the gods in U19 but still had a fab time. How awesome, though, that you were so close! Any chance you could type up the setlist so that I can make a playlist on my iTunes?
I also got some little one minute video clips on my phone. Any interest if I upload them to YouTube?
*sigh* Wish I could go to the Philly gigs. That's where I live when I'm in America.
The setlist is here (both a typed-up version and a scan of the actual paper one, minus Ram On): http://www.beatlesbible.com/20…..m-cardiff/
I've uploaded one song to YouTube already (which is embedded in the article) but I don't think I'll add any more. I need to sort out the photos though.

OfflineCompletely missed this write up. Well done indeed, Joe. I'll be linking lots of my mates to it!
That video! You weren't half close, man! I'm afraid mine are much farther away, but I got some interesting ones (got him saying "diolch," the nanana in Hey Jude, etc.)…I don't expect you to put them on your site, but if you or anyone else wants to see them, I'll gladly upload them and throw some links up on the forum.
Do leave a comment on that page, and encourage your friends to do the same too. I love hearing people's memories of the shows.
A friend posted this on Facebook – it made me smile. Sadly I didn't see the incident in question.
"The oddest moment of Saturday's Paul McCartney gig was when some 50-year-old louts in Block U14 started fighting with each other, just as Macca broke into 'Give Peace a Chance'"

PS Skye – Ellie posted on Facebook "Macca was AMAZING". So pleased she enjoyed it as much as I did!
You might just convert her.
No t-shirts? I bought one just because I had to have something. The programs were sold out. But I wore it proudly to work the next day!
You got a set list? You don't want it (you want to send it to me), but you're going to end up with a Beatles house if you keep this up.

JULY 13th!?!?!??!?!??!?!??!?!?!? OH MY GOODNESS!! MeanMrs.Mustard, are you from Utah?!?!??!?!?!?! I'M GOING TOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Maybe.
Look for the very blonde girl somewhere on the field with her equally blonde brother.
Also, they both have Beatles shirts.
And they have a sign that makes some sort of Beatles joke.
MOST AWESOME DAY OF MY LIFE!
