I guess I made a little mistake
HP has digitalized most of Paul's collection of photos, videos and audio. I'm not sure how it will be available to the general public, but it's indeed great news because it will be a way to preserve his work.

It is exciting because eventually the fans may have access to part of this collection. There are millions of goodies in the new archive. I, for one, cannot wait to get my hands, ears, and eyes on some of it.

I'm looking forward to rediscovering some and discovering some for the first time. I don't have a lot of his solo work in my CD rack so this will be a great time to do it – as they are re-released.
I am most excited about everything before McCartney II – particularly McCartney, Ram and Venus and Mars.

Ops I didn't explain myself.
I made a mistake with posting the message in this topic. Paul McCartney's Archive Collection is about the albums, this is Paul McCartney's Digital Library. Those are 2 different things, although we can say it's the same.
I have to say, way to go Paul. An amazing masterstroke of his talent for business. I hope Yoko considers doing the same with John's stuff.

Isn't most of it going to stay private, though? I thought the digital library was primarily for MPL purposes, with the occasional crumb thrown at the peasants.

Well, I am looking forward to the crumb, at least. I think most of it is for MPL, but Paul talked a lot about it being useful for fans, too, in the link mith submitted. Maybe one day, we'll get some access to it.

I'm listening to Flowers In The Dirt right now for the first time in years. It's got some lovely moments but I don't really like the late-80s production. It got me thinking, though…
We've now seen three releases in the Archive Collection: Band On The Run, McCartney and McCartney II. They give a fair idea of what to expect from future releases, so I was wondering a) what people's predictions are for the rest, or b) what they'd like to hear (likely or otherwise). Let's keep this going and see how accurate we are.
I think a double bill of Ram/Thrillington is likely, with some extras and outtakes from the Ram sessions added (Another Day, Oh Woman Oh Why, Little Woman Love, Sunshine Sometime, Rode All Night, A Love For You and Hey Diddle).
I'd also love to have the full Elvis Costello demos recorded prior to Flowers In The Dirt. There are nine songs I'm aware of: The Lovers That Never Were, Twenty-Five Fingers, Tommy's Coming Home, So Like Candy, You Want Her Too, Playboy To A Man, Don't Be Careless Love, My Brave Face, That Day Is Done. There are quite a few b-sides from the FITD singles too, and the live Strawberry Fields Forever/Help!/GPAC medley that he did on tour.
According to Wikipedia, there are also six unreleased songs from Choba B CCCP: I Saw Her Standing There, Take This Hammer, Cut Across Shorty, Poor Boy, Lend Me Your Comb, No Other Baby. That seems likely, as does the whole Unplugged performance.

I''ll take Red Rose Speedway for now. I expect Tragedy, Night Out, Soily (studio), Best Friend (Live), a couple of oldies done on the University tour (Lucille, Blue Moon of Kentucky or Long Tall Sally, perhaps?) and maybe Linda's Seaside Woman. That's about it that I can see.
Joe – Seems spot on. I'd love the Costello stuff. I might do Venus and Mars later.

How about the original Tug of War demos, rejected by George Martin? They'd be interesting, especially as he called 6 of the songs bad.

Found a blog which has a list of the reissues coming, no dates tho, and it might not be at all accurate.
Supposedly there are 42 releases reaching thru to 2016. Currently we are on #3 with Ram and Venus and Mars next, probably around christmas, which would leave 37 albums over 5 years, roughly 7 per year, but that includes things like Linda's Wild Prairie, Oobu Jubu and Driving Rain.
All in if you want everything and say its £15 for each cd and dvd download release (actually i think it was around £20 to download the superdeluxe McCartney 2 and that was music only) thats £585 (more if you want the packaging, much more if you want the book).
Plus you have a long wait for the demos and studio outtakes if the releases follow this order.
Glad to see that the Wings material is first on the list and that Speed of Sound is #6 as that is such a good album.
Would also be good if Paul would either release them in bundles with advance warning, so you didnt buy them individually at a greater cost, or a deal where, for example, if you buy 5 deluxe albums you get a free one thrown in. Or even the remaining 8 Wings titles grouped together with the outtakes as a bonus. Anything that would bring the cost down.
Is anyone going to get every album?

I'll probably get them all. I've been holding off buying any of his back catalogue as I know he'll eventually reissue remastered versions. You can get the double-disc versions for less than £15 though.
After the Beatles and Lennon reissues, Apple box and the McCartney archive, what's the betting on a George Harrison reissue programme for his 70th in February 2013?

I've been holding out as well. I mentioned in a different thread that this takes me back to my childhood as I can't wait for the 'new' albums to come out. Very exciting.

I wish he would put out the unreleased material he was planning to release called cold cuts. Quite a few songs including a great ballad titled Tragedy which is from the Ram sessions have been put up on YT. It would be great if they officially saw the light of day

Tragedy is beautiful! The first time I heard it, I played it like 3 times. You can find all those B-sides and unreleased tracks in places you shouldn't download from…
Maybe with the take-off of his new HP-based site (which is excellent, by the way, it you haven't checked it out), I think more of the unreleased tracks will be made available. As of now, every studio album he's ever made is on the site for fans to enjoy!
As for the remastered stuff, I'll be getting all of it, hopefully the book versions. I have the Mc I and II book versions. If I do that, though, I estimate almost $3000 worth of McCartney material, which is not really feasible. I don't think everything will be released in a deluxe edition, such as the Oobu Joobu stuff. I have pretty much all the music already, but only in digital format. Having a hard copy is soooo much better.
I really can't wait for Ram and Venus and Mars! Though, I think it is a little less exciting for me because all of these tunes are fresh in my head. I listen to them a lot, and I feel I've heard almost everything there is to hear. I'll be grateful if there is something I haven't heard released as bonuses, especially those Costello demos. I guess this is what I get for having to have everything at once instead of waiting. Still, it is exciting to get new things…and that Standards album (which may or may not be a good idea, but which I am excited about anyway) should be out early next year!

I haven't gotten McCartney I and McCartney II because they're not for sale YET in my country.
