Some great stories from a fan who attended the recent London events. Her other pages are fun as well.

The more I listen to this album the more I love it.

I am really into “Early Days “…  another favourite.  Like I said in another thread, “Appreciate” is really growing on me too.

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been..  I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene..  Banjos!  Banjos!  All the time, I can't forget that tune..  and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

This may be a bit late, but I just saw this video today. Paul speaks about being afraid of going before the iheartradio crowd. He worried for nothing. They loved him.

No idea if its been mentioned before but noticed that one of the lines in Queenie Eye is

O-U-T spells out that’s out

of which the first half is what Ringo sings in The Beatles’ Christmas Time (Is Here Again) (released on the b-side of Free As A Bird ).

Not sure if it’s a deliberate reference but it’s certainly a fun co-incidence.

I saw an interview where he talks about “Queenie Eye ” being about the game he played as a kid that had the chant that is the chorus to the track, when he repeated the chant he said the “O-U-T spells out” part- as in “you’re out” now.

Maybe that’s where they got that from when they put it in “Christmas Time (is here again)”, but in that context I always thought it meant school was O-U-T.

Yes, I thought the title was in poor taste but the review itself didn’t seem too bad.

On another subject, does anyone think it’s funny that in the deluxe liner notes (don’t know about the standard edition) Paul speaks at length about each of the producers, but doesn’t seem to even acknowledge his fellow musicians?

The standard version has the same information on the two inside covers as the deluxe (without that 3rd panel on the inside like the deluxe). However, the standard version comes with a little booklet that has all the lyrics for the 12 songs on it, pictures from the recording sessions, and information about who played and sang and produced what and where. For “Alligator” it has Play-Me-A-Song book listed as an instrument. What the heck is that all about?

^getting to Joe’s point, I think that apart from only a few songs where his touring band played on them, he played everything himself (apart from the drums on the Epworth-produced tracks)

Queenie Eye
I was nervous, but I did it
now I’m going back for more

Turned Out
Looking back it didn’t hurt me.
It did something for my soul.

These lyrics pair well with “Early Days ” like a fine wine and an aged cheese…or beer and pretzels if that’s your thing.

“Get Me Out Of Here” (oh boy) brings to mind Buddy Holly’s “Oh Boy” (to which McCartney holds the rights)

and of course the similar-themed “We Gotta Get Out Of This Place”

Paul gives me goosebumps for 6 minutes during songs 9 (Hosanna) and 10 (I Can Bet). Just when my brain waves and breathing have evened out and my heart rate is back to normal, he sings “um, yeah” a minute and 4 seconds into song 13 (Turned Out), and I’m gone again. Gulp.

The DJ on 70s on 7 just told everyone very excitedly to go out and buy “New”. Then he played Junior’s Farm.
