New Version Of Old Paul McCartney Track On YouTube

Nobody is quite sure what this short, animated video is for, but what we do know is that it contains a stripped down version of the song Heart of the Country from the album Ram by Paul and Linda McCartney.

The forty second clip was uploaded to a new YouTube account called “Linda McCartney.” While there is no indication of the purpose for the clip, people have commented that it is part of an ad for Linda McCartney Foods and the version was recorded in 2012 with Mark Ronson producing.

Slightly strange hearing a different vocal but i like it and wouldnt mind hearing a full length version. The harmonica gives it a cool twist and different feel.  Really cool animation as well.

Why is a pig bbqing sausages at 00:18 - 00:20? Isnt that pig cannabalism? Or a obscure reference to Piggies?

Definitely not a reference to Piggies, I would say that it's probably a Linda reference, especially if it is for Linda McCartney Foods (so then not real meat, I guess).

I was taken back by the cows eating hamburgers at first, but my guess is those animal/food pairings were chosen because you'd notice them and for showing they're okay to eat as they're veggie.

I get the veggie thing, just seemed a bit weird to put in a video, a pig eating sausages, a cow eating humburgers.

Why would a cow eat a hamburger or a veggie burger? Would it pass up a meat pattie if it knew it was from a cow? I suppose its to get us thinking that a cow is a living animal as is a pig.

And not wanting to any folk but ive eaten those meat free Quorn sausages and they were not good.

I wasn't speaking in terms of the internal logic so much as a PR strategy. The viewer *notices* a cow eating a hamburger than you would another animal eating a hamburger, which gets you thinking and talking. And if that was the aim, the video was successful.

Sorry parlance, should have made it clear that that was me thinking aloud and typing nonchalantly not responding to any direct post. Apologies.

No problem! I wasn't sure, so I didn't want to leave you hanging in case you were. ;->

Man, Wild Life is such a good song. Such a good song. Any track where you hear 30 seconds and you go "wow, gotta hear the whole song".

I think it translates to saying that since we can't see ourselves as animals (of course), the video used exemplar animals(best examples of animals) to show that we're made of meat, and we're eating meat. This video was probably recorded "recently" since Paul's voice sounds different.

"And in the End the Love you take is equal to the Love you make"
"When I was a robber *Piano Chord* in Boston Place"
"Let's hope this turns out pretty darn good huh"
"Pete may be the best, but Ringo is the star"
Paul:"Don't be nervous John"
John:"I 'm not"

Yeah, and I forgot how great this song is of an example of the "screaming Paul" singing.  I put up a topic about that a while back, and completely forgot about this song.  This easily fits into Paul's top 10 best "screaming" songs, especially towards the last half.  Truly inspired screaming, the way he hits notes you don't expect, but which sound deeply right.

Part of it has to do with the fact that his screaming is riffing on a minor key -- unlike the other screaming songs ("Why Don't We Do It In The Road?", "Helter Skelter", "Mumbo", etc.)

P.S.:  Just remembered -- "Monkberry Moon Delight" is another screamer in a minor key.  But I think those two are the only ones.  The rest are in major keys.

Damn!  Thought of a third one:  "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five".

I guess I'll have to stop saying "those are the only ones" LOL.

Paul recording the remake in the studio. You get to see his highly scientific method of finding the right sound for the track.
