Zig, this may be the only time I have ever disagreed with a review you gave. Its a smashing album.
Yeah, that was just a first impression mr. S. I will give it another go – I respect Macca far too much to not to. It was by no means horrible, just not to my liking yet.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, Let it roll for all its worth.

OfflineIt did also have to grow on me. A lot of the time, I need it to not be great right away, if that makes any sense. Those albums never stand the test of time.

Wow – another double post more than 3 months apart.
Listened to this for the first time today. It wasn't really my cup of tea. I will give it a second listen however, thanks to the second from last track, The End Of The End. It's really the only one that made me turn up the volume.
Initially, I'm glad I only paid $3 for it. I also thought, this may be a bit of a clunker (my opinion only) by Macca standards but most musical acts could only hope for something this good.
Still looking forward to exploring more solo stuff from the second Beatle.
Did you like Mr. Bellamy? It's my favorite song off the cd. If you haven't listened to it again, I'd give that one another listen. Also, That Was Me…I love the bass in that song, and the part where he does the sort of screaming vocals gives me chills. Love it!

OfflineSo, this morning on my way to the office I'm listening to my "Macca" playlist which features this album at the end. I decided to let it play on. All of a sudden I heard someone singing and tapping their fingers.
Lo and behold, it was me. Thanks again for encouraging me to stick with it.

There's a deluxe edition which has a bonus CD in which he talks about each song (one day I'll turn it into a series of articles here).
I'd love to read that. Some of those songs seem to really have a solid story behind them, and I'd be intrigued to read about them all. Mr. Bellamy, for example – isn't that a fantastically odd song?
Also, Joe, as I haven't made contact with you before, I must say how much I love the website… It's provided me with endless Beatles knowledge for a very long time now.
Cheers!
You're welcome! Nice to say hello to you too.
The McCartney stuff is a work in progress – I've done a few album articles, but the songs will probably come much later (if at all). I thought I might do them as the albums are reissued, which would make the huge back catalogue less daunting.

Joe, are you still going to be doing articles on McCartney's shows?
