Does that make it a bad song in itself? McCartney's written some real stinkers over the years, and MBF probably wouldn't be in my bottom 100.

What about "My Brave Face" from the 1989 album Flowers in the Dirt? A co-write with Elvis Costello, the songwriting pair also penned "Veronica" for Costello's 1989 album, Spike.

My complaint with MBF is that I see many critics comparing this song to a Go-Go's song. The way that it sounds.

Reading the thread, I feel like an Macca fan here. And I'm not.

Anyway: i don't like Helter Skelter (but I like the U2 cover), Honey Pie, Maxwell Silver Hammer. If I remember another songs, I'll post later.

To tell you the truth, I don't know Paul's music all that much. I know Band On The Run and Tug of War, and some other songs, but...that's kind of it. I'm not a big fan of instrumentals, and if McCartney has instrumentals, I might not like it all that much. that's the main reason why I dont like it. I like "Ever Present Past" from Memory Almost Full, but I don't know the whole album all that much. I like most of Tug of War, except for "Ebony and Ivory" and "Dress Me Up As A Robber".

I have to side with you on this. I've tried to like this album, but it is just not to my liking.

It's probably just a case of being spoiled by so much of his other stuff.

I can't stand Gratitude. There's just something about it... also Vintage Clothes. To be honest it's the whole Memory Almost Full album that bothers me. Except Dance Tonight, I still love that song. Pretty much all his other stuff is brilliant.

Okay, I've held my piece long enough. While Soily is terrible, Let Me Roll It is rightly held as one of his best. But, as you say, tastes are different, I guess…
