Dang, this is hard. But, in concert, I’d say Jet (mmm’s favoriteblue-meanie). It has a fantastic energy performed live. It’s incredible, and I got that just from recordings. Just in a room, probably Calico Skies. Runners up are Queenie Eye live, Jenny Wren smaller scale.

Haha I knew I’d get a rebuttal. No actually I like his solo work better overall than the others, though it’s close.

A Day In The Life ” (“…but only the parts you sang in the original recording, Paul, not John’s parts!”)

That oughta settle it once & for all.

Perhaps we could throw another one into this category. We’re pretty sure we have the answer, but we could get Paul to verify it with this ingenious method of yours, vonbontee.

For me this is the last meal equivalent. Is it better to have him sing one of your favourites which he has sung often or a more obscure track that he has never done before? I’m very tempted to say On The Way from McCartney II . Beatle-wise, probably Yesterday – Paul solo on his acoustic guitar.a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

If you are in the audience, mmm, when Paul sings a song to me, I will not request Jet , Dance Tonight, or Hold Me Tight . Promise.

It doesn’t bother me if they are but thanks. When Paul sang Dance Tonight at Hampden i used it as the bathroom break and a chance to get a breather, I think I even found the lady selling the programmes which was a nice outcome.

When Ringo came to Glasgow i had to skip a few of his Band’s tracks, one for the bathroom break and the other just for a walk. Looking at the set list i think the tracks were Kyrie & Broken Wings but could be wrong. I hate 80’s rock in the vein of Bon Jovi and Mr. Mister.

I think Yesterday would be a lovely one for him to do as a solo concert for you. I can just imagine him sat on my settee with his acoustic… a-hard-days-night-paul-7 And I may have said this way upthread, but perhaps Little Willow too, though I’d just cry the whole way through I’m sure.

Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

It would be damn hard to beat just Paul and his acoustic. In the demo’s that are out there there is something so warm and relaxing and enjoyable and amazing hearing Paul strumming his guitar in a relaxed setting and manner.

Take Country Dreamer from One Hand Clapping as an example (released on archive Band On The Run double cd).

Just remembered the demo for Hey Diddle as he sings with Linda with his kids around him, all enjoying it. It is so absolutely friggin’ adorable.

Live either Jet or Live And Let Die …. Or 1985.

Personal… Hmmm… This is so difficult. Something with him and a piano might be interesting alone. Actually… I don’t know. Monkberry Moon Delight would be kind of fun. Maybe that’d be better live mbut whatever I’m leaving it here. And…. I’m not adding any more, I’ve already listed two more than I should. I’m not good at things like these!!

I am totally with you on Yesterday . Just to have him on my bed doing that song with my guitar would be fabulous. I wish that he could do all sorts of stuff that I want though.

‘Happy Birthday ‘ – that would mean he would be at my house in November eating cake and giving me presents.a-hard-days-night-paul-5

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

You do realize he wrote his own birthday song-2 actually- I’d rather have him sing those than the typical happy birthday (too silly and too many royalties) but that’s kinda cliche.
