My opinion right now on this won't seem to valid since I've hardly listened to any of Paul's solo work considering the two albums by him I have on my iTunes are compilation albums. But so far from all the songs I've heard either Tug of War or My Love has to be my favorite. But coming in right behind them would be No More Lonely Nights thanks to a friend of mine that absolutely adores that song.

Actually, and this may be strange, covers work better when done different. Like The 5 Spector done tracks on John's Rock and Roll (Bony Moronie, You Can't Catch Me, Sweet Little Sixteen, Just Because, and 1 other), because they were slow and Wall of Sound.

Wow! I can't believe you don't have Ram and Electric Arguments. They're probably two of my favorite McCartney albums. You need to rectify that right away. Lol...Despite Tug of War being lauded as one of his best, for some reason it is not one of favorites, while one of his "worst" (Red Rose Speedway) is. I do know what you mean about BOTR, though. I've listened to it ...

Hits: Band On The Run, Jet, Take It Away, No More Lonely Nights, Let Em In, Mull of Kintyre. All different, yet all masterpieces. Jet, with the roaring bass, Take It Away, the beautiful contrast, Let Em In, the great secret references and the brass!!! Breathtaking. And, when in times of calm, nothing beats Mull of Kintyre.

Album Tracks: Back Seat of The Car, Bluebird, Beware My Love, and Maybe I'm Amazed. Again, all different, yet all masterpieces. Bluebird is acoustic ...

In advance, this is a long one; bear with me. (Also, I haven't heard all his work)

Whenever assessing music, there are 3 markers I use. Consistency (How close are the best and worst songs), melodies, and Band skill (The skill of those on the record, in terms of instruments). So, to begin at lest, I'll tackle them individually:

Consistency: Tug of War and Band On The Run. Here, the weaker songs are still fabulous, and the best are up with his best.

Tug Of War has some of his best songs (Tug of War, Take It Away, Dress Me Up As A Robber), ...

While the info is helpful it is making it difficult for me to decide what to get first! I think I'll just get them in order. I've been thinking it would be nice to have the first post-Beatles album from all 4 anyway. That means I just need Paul's and Ringo's to complete the firsts.
