I've recently made a 50 song playlist of Paul's songs (icluding Beatles songs) covering the 50 years of his career (1962-2012). I call it "Paul McCartney: His Ever Present Past" I find it a great collection though it was very tough to choose only 50 songs... I had to leave some really great songs outside... (like The Back Seat of My Car, Letting Go...)

I separated the collection in 3 CDs:
1) Yesterday: 1962-1969 (although I kinda cheat including Let it Be, that was released in 1970)
2) Band on the Run: 1970-1979
3) Off the Ground: 1980-2012

I never liked the inclusion of the edits, i understand why they were included but didnt like them. And why was No More Lonely Nights selected - and two versions? Not that the song is not worthy of a place but why stop there? Either let it be a greatest hits up to Tug Of War (where a number of the tracks had Denny Laine playing - the main other member of Wings outside of Paul and Linda so fitting into a general Wings feel) or go up to 2001 and include tracks from Flaming Pie, Off The Ground etc. But ...

Maybe "awful" is a bit harsh, but my grievances are thus:

1) Way too many songs, and therefore a load of songs that shouldn't be there.

2) Songs that should be on there criminally overlooked (Monkberry Moon Delight, 1985)

Actually, that's it.

When it was all the Paul I owned I had to sit through loads of songs I found boring at best in ...
