I love the Octopus's Garden beginning, and I also love the Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!/Helter Skelter/I Want You (She's So Heavy) mix, and of course the While My Guitar Gently Weeps version.
Oh yeah! I completely forgot about the Octopus's Garden beginning! With the "Good Night" instrumental it really sounds like a children's song.

What do you think of the Cirque Du Soleil "Love" Album? I have it and think it's great. the beginning for "Get Back" is really cool.
It's fantastic, imo!
Although I have all their albums for about 20 years now and already listened to the Songtrack excessively that CD didn't leave my car-CD player for a year or something.
The MArtins created some truly magical moments by culminating many essentials into this mix.
I like how they shortened and tightened some songs (Hey Jude) without taking away too much of it and how they created totally new sounds just by using all the so very well known ones.
It's a feast, especially for die hard fans to discover all the tiniy and big bits (we covered that in some other thread).
Can't understand ANY criticism of it! Only maybe they didn't change ENOUGH on some songs (Help!)
My favourite moments:
Ending of Strawberry Fields Forever – when the harpsichord from "Piggies" sets in, together with "Heyba, heyba helloah", that's one the most uplifting moments in music history for me!
Tomorrow never knows/Within you without you – Too incredibly brilliant to describe it.
Not only Octopus's garden's beginning, but also that moment at the beginning of that last chorus where the music stops and sets in again – cool!!
Link between Hey Jude (cool prominent bass line over the almost a cappella section) and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Drive my car/What you're doing/The word (not enough Word, though)
Intro Lady Madonna
And many, many other magical music moments! A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
But I'm quite sure I wouldn't need to attend the show…

OfflineUnbelievably fantastic album, I agree with paulsbass that it almost brought new life to me as a Beatles fan.
My favorite song would be Eleanor Rigby/Julia, the guitar from Julia always makes me feel like I'm swimming.
The Love story has to be about John Lennon, I mean we hear the guitar from Julia immediately followed by police sirens…or maybe I'm just looking into it too much.

The 'Love' Album is a nice addition to their catalog. It makes all the songs sound so fresh and alive again. Giles Martin did an excellent job with the mixing. I only wish 'Help' was mixed differently. It sounds too much like the original version.
Yeah, I have to agree with you about "Help!" sounding too much like the original.
I love the ending of "All You Need is Love." It sounds like an ending should. It just sounds…conclusive.

I've only heard a few of the songs off of Love, but personally I prefer the songs the way they were.
I prefer the originals as well, but it is nice to hear something different now and then.

Pretty much my go to album for long drives, especially for interviews across town. It just makes me happy and calms my nerves.
I like to play it when I go to bed because it's a great selection of great songs, instead of a whole album or shuffle. it makes me very happy and at peace.

OfflineLove is a great excuse to get a "new" product out on the market. It never will, or was intended to, replace the originals.

OfflineWell, I don't think it's an "excuse." I personally love the album. As you said, it wasn't intended to replace the originals. I mean, was Revolver intended to replace Rubber Soul or even With the Beatles? It's not the same thing as the originals because the Beatles themselves aren't performing the songs, but I think it's a brilliant idea.

OfflineI have really been listening to Love on YouTube for a few days, and blimey, what an album.
Better than the originals: I Am The Walrus, Come Together, Get Back, probably Here Comes The Sun (minus The Inner Light). Within You Without You/Tomorrow Never Knows is phenomenal as well, and so is Eleanor Rigby. There aren't any bad tracks or ones that don't do the originals justice, but there are some that are too similar to the originals, like Revolution, Help!, and A Day In The Life.

OfflineI especially love the ending for All You Need is Love. It brings a smile to my face every time I hear it. And the shorter version of Hey Jude, how it cuts off some of the instruments for a little bit is just awesome. Have any of you heard the Fool on the Hill ITunes special? I love that version. Anyways, this album just awesome.
