For Me, the conspiracy doesn't fly, and would be more believable if Nixon was still in office. Nixon would kill anybody he didn't like (See the Kent State shootings) and I wouldn't put it past him. But he would have be useless in 1980. Reagan wasn't yet in power, and Carter most likely didn't have any Nixon cronies in the State Department, CIA, or any other Cabinet position.

Nixon was one of our most respectable presidents and that is why I am confused as to why so many people decide not to give him the respect he has worked so hard into getting himself, because people accuse him of getting people killed. Really? I think not. That's almost as dumb(the theory, not the people who believe it) as that crazy theory that Bill and Hilary Clinton are murderers, their real good people too, and yet respect is what the three of these people lack from others, including me because the society in which we live in is brainwashing us to belive what the government and the school boards want you to think. You can't trust anyone anymore because if you do you'll only be killed in the end!

Nixon ordered the killings of protesters in the whole Kent State Shootings, he tried to deport John and he wiretapped the Democratic headquarters. All illegal/immoral acts.

How is deporting JOhn illegal? Wasn't he an illegal citizen, because I thought he was and it's not illegal to deport illegals, they still do it nowadays I believe, because last year it was a real big deal and it was all over the news. And maybe he was framed, you never know, you never know!

To say that Nixon was a respectable President is, well, just not correct.
This thread completely approaches the subject of John's death in the wrong way by associating it with Nixon. The only thing you could say about Nixon with regard to Lennon is that he saw him as a threat, and that's not some crazy conspiracy theory, it's been well documented.
So it seems as though most are just assuming the theory is crazy because of the Nixon/Lennon connection and how implausible it sounds, but what I'm saying is if anyone is actually interested in this subject, forget about tying those two together and do some actual research on Chapman and the murder itself. Anything else is pure speculation with no real basis whatsoever and that's fine, but at the same time I wouldn't just dismiss a theory without doing some research. Just because something is labeled a "conspiracy theory" doesn't mean there is no chance it's true, just look at all of those wacko's who said the Gulf of Tonkin incedent was faked, they don't look so crazy anymore.

Wait, so some people think Nixon is a respectable president? He was a complete crook. And of course he saw John as a threat and tried to deport him. Which just makes him that much more disliked in my book. Another one of the presidents we could have very much done without.

I was only kidding about the one of the most respectable part. I'm a bit ignorant of Nixon and so I really don't know so much about him other than what I've read in John Lennon books, which really isn't a lot. From what I've read though, I would agree with you that Nixon felt that Lennon was a threat. Also, I was referring to the whole thing where Nixon supposedly got someone to kill John when I said that that theory was dumb.

I'm assuming you are asking for directions to insert an image from Google Images.
Step 1. Google your image. ("I am not a crook.")
Step 2. Go to Google Images.
Step 3. Click on desired image. (There were a couple of Pinocchio ones and "by today's standards" ones, but I thought a simple caption would be most effective.)
Step 4. Click on "Full-sized image."
Step 5. Copy the URL. (Highlight, then Command+C or CTRL+C)
Step 6. Click on the button with a picture of a tree.
Step 7. In the top bar, paste. (Command+V or CTRL+V.)
That's how you paste an image from Google Images.

I think you go to http://www.picnic.com , but I've never used it before.
If you have PhotoShop, though, it's pretty easy. Just hit the text button on the toolbar, then select where you want the text box to be. When you're done adjusting the font, type away!

Has the US had a good president since JFK (John Fitzgerald Kennedy)? Johnson was ok, Nixon was a crook, Carter didn't do anything good, Reagan screwed up the economy, causing the current recession, George HW Bush was Reagan again, Clinton cheated on his wife while in office, and failed on health care, and Bush, well, just failed in every way.
